In India, there are few B-schools which offer MBA of one year duration. The popular names are SPJIMR Mumbai, Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) Chennai, ISB Hyderabad and School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL) Gurgaon.
One of the most important criteria to apply for the one year MBA is work experience. According to the professors of the one year MBA program, these programs are suited only for the work experienced students as they require a lot of rigor which is less likely to be found in a fresher.

Fees
The students of the one year MBA programs are mostly company sponsored. The fee structure of the one year programs are on a much higher side compared to the regular two year MBA programs. The fee of PGPM at SPJIMR is more than Rs. 7.5 Lakh. The tuition fee for PGPM at GLIM is Rs. 12, 90, 000. The total fee for ISB Hyderabad PGPM is Rs. 21, 50, 000. The fee for the BLP program of SOIL Gurgaon is Rs. 9, 00, 000.
Work Experience
To apply for ISB Hyderabad and GLIM Chennai, one should have a minimum work experience of two years. For SOIL Gurgaon, the minimum work experience required is three years, and for SPJIMR the work experience is 5 years minimum.
Curriculum
The difference which you will face in terms of the curriculum of two year MBA program and the one year MBA program is in the summer internship. In the one year MBA program, there are hardly any breaks in which you can go for a summer training or internship. But that is mitigated with the regular industry interface and week long internships.
The one year MBA program curriculum is justified as it is taken by working professionals who already have a hold over the corporate movement. The students don’t need the boost or the first hand corporate experience because they already have it.
