Delhi-based International Management Institute (IMI) is getting ready to organize its HR, Finance and Marketing events for 2007.

The HR Summit on ‘Managing Talent for Global Competitiveness: Issues and Challenges’ will be held on August 30 and 31. The Marketing Summit, titled ‘Srijan’, will focus on the theme ‘Marketers Love Change’ and will be held on September 1. The Finance Conclave titled ‘Prahelika’ will be held on September 2.

The two-day HR Summit will involve five panel discussions. According to IMI, “It will include themes like Managing Attrition & Aspirations, Non-Financial Employee Motivators – Increasing Employee Engagement, Employer Branding: How Truthful? How Fruitful, Planning for the Future: Succession Planning and Recruitment Process Outsourcing - Challenges & Opportunities. This will be further followed by two inter B-schools competitions.” The HR part will discuss how to keep high performers motivated, and hence productive. This issue is all the more crucial in today’s wired world, where the only real differentiators that a business possesses are its employees, and managing them well can really give them an unassailable competitive advantage globally. “Eminent personalities from the industry as well as the academia will hold insightful discussions on these sub themes during the course of the event,” says IMI.

The Marketing Summit and the Finance Conclave will be paper presentation competitions for students of management institutes. According to IMI, “The marketing summit will discuss issues like Product Innovation, Innovative Pricing, Innovative Distribution/Place and Innovative Promotion. This will be a paper presentation competition for all first and second year students of management.”

The Finance Conclave will focus on changing dynamics like understanding how Indian business houses have been investing huge sums of money abroad for acquiring assets and portfolio investments. According to IMI, “Through this Conclave, we make an attempt to answer some of the questions which remain unanswered. Some of these questions are -- Capital flight from India: What lies beneath; SA or M&A: Are we making the right choice?; Size or efficiency: What will drive the fortunes of Indian banks; and Size or efficiency: What will drive the fortunes of Indian banks?”

The Marketing Summit will be organized by Prometheans, the marketing club at IMI and the Finance Conclave will be organized by Finalyze, the finance club at IMI.
