Mr Bhikchandani said, “Entrepreneurship is all about making a difference, it is about a mission.”

The agenda of the session at FMS Delhi was set by students, who were interested in Mr Bhikchandani’s journey -- the hardships he faced, his foray into diverse segments and others details.

“If people are already spending money in an activity, and if you think you can make a difference and give better services, then you will have a reasonable chance of doing well,” said Mr Bikchandani. His company InfoEdge is connecting employee and employer, bride and groom, buyer and seller or buyer and broker.

The entrepreneurial journey of Mr Sanjeev Bikchandani, Founder and CEO of InfoEdge (India), better known for its portals naukri.com and jeevansathi.com, is well known now. He dreamt of being an entrepreneur while he was in school, college and while working for corporate India. It was after completing his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and working for FMCG company (HMM) that -- in 1990 -- he finally took the plunge into the world of entrepreneurship. It took him several years, with many trials-and-errors in between, to hit upon the insight -- that jobs is a very high interest area and Internet is the right "backbone" to enable the connection between job seekers and recruiters. Mr Bikchandani's company Info Edge was successfully listed on stock market in 2006.

According to Mr Bhikchandani Brand Building was a three-step process: Build a product, Build customer experience and only then Advertise.

Closing his address, Mr Bhikchandani advised all the aspiring entrepreneurs, “Chose opportunities carefully, plan well, mitigate risks and stay committed. It is not about making money, it is about doing things your way, it is about making a difference, and it is about a mission. Wish you all the best.”
