FMS Delhi 2011: FMS Delhi switches to CAT 2011 for Admissions 2012; FMS exam scrapped

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi has decided to scrap its own entrance exam.FMS entrance exam is known for its high difficulty level and is more popular as a speed based exam.

Following on close heels of the scrapping of MICAT entrance exam by MICA and the JMET entrance exam by the Department of Management Studies of IITs, comes another breaking news of the big entrance exam of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi getting scrapped.

Prof. Raj S. Dhankar, Dean, FMS Delhi confirmed the important development to MBAUniverse.com today, 6 September 2011.
These national institutions have switched to CAT in view of the unnecessary burden on themselves of executing a national level entrance exam.
With FMS Delhi also scrapping its own entrance exam and adopting CAT, the CAT exam is surely becoming a super entrance exam.

FMS Delhi will now consider CAT 2011 scores for admissions 2012. According to other reports in the media the decision was taken after the university declared its inability to conduct the exam during a meeting with the FMS faculty members.
The reports mention that the letter sent by the University of Delhi dated August 25, 2011 had stated that they would be unable to conduct the FMS entrance exam which was supposed to be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011. The letter said the university was, “Severely strained by the burden of the exams conducted, on a national level by other departments.”

FMS entrance exam is known for its high difficulty level and is more popular as a speed based exam. Recently, in an exclusive conversation with MBAUniverse.com, FMS Dean Dr. Raj S Dhankar had mentioned that the FMS 2011 exam will be held on December 4 and the registration process will start from September. But before the application process could start, the decision of doing away with the exam has been taken by the university and the institute.

As we all Knows that FMS is the very reputed entrance exam of Delhi University, it also known as for his difficulty level. Most of Engineering Graduate take this test as his dream b school. this step decomposes the aggressiveness of test takers towards this test, because now it FMS Delhi will now consider CAT 2011 scores for admissions 2012. According to other reports in the media the decision was taken after the university declared its inability to conduct the exam during a meeting with the FMS faculty.
