Revise: By now you must have the conceptual clarity of the areas and topics which you are likely to face in CAT 2011. Now that just about 10 days are left for CAT 2011, you should not focus on anything completely new at this stage. Rather, revise what you have learnt so far as much as possible. “Revise as much as possible. You will see that there are many hidden areas which you were not well versed till now but with regular revision, you will be able to make those areas stronger which will lead you to solving any question from the given area,” suggests Gautam Puri, Vice Chairman, Career Launcher.

Revisit mocks: You must have taken a good number of mock tests and analyzed them well by now. In the last phase of preparation, what is even more important is to revisit those mock tests. “Revisit all the mock tests you have taken so far, especially the analysis sheet. That will be the real and most practical preparation strategy in the last few days before CAT 2011,” emphasizes Arun Sharma, CAT guru, author of CAT preparation books and IIM Bangalore alumnus.

Talking about the necessity of revisiting the earlier mocks taken, Puri adds, “After revisiting the mocks and analysis of the exams, you must have found out the right method of solving the questions, which will take lesser time and more convenient. You have to find out these shortcuts and practice these methods more and more.”

Taking mocks: The number of taking mocks will depend on which day you are taking the test. “You should not take any mock test before a week to the test. If you are taking the test in the second phase, in November you can still take a couple of mock tests in a week,” advises Puri.

The next part of the article will tell you about how you can maximize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses.
