The eve of CAT 2011 has arrived. No matter how many mock tests you have taken so far, it is quite natural to feel tensed and anxious. But as you know, keeping your cool is the only mantra you can follow today. In today’s special article of MBAUniverse.com on the Tip of the Day, we give you an account of what you have to do in the last day to keep all your tension at bay.

Keep reading to know what are the things you should do and avoid on a day before CAT 2011.

1. Relax and take it easy: Start the day in a relaxed note. Take it as just another day. Ensure that you have a relaxed and healthy mind set to pull through the day.

2. No mocks on the last day: You have already taken enough mock tests, analyzed them, worked on your weak areas and honed your strengths. Don’t stress yourself by taking any more mock tests. If you have yet anything to do, just let it be. As the mantra for the day is to relax, don’t even think of taking another mock test. It would do more harm than good.

3. Visit your test center: It is highly advisable to visit your test center at least two days prior to the test. If you haven’t visited it yet, today is the time. In case you find any difficulty in locating it, www.catiim.in has made available the directions and maps for the test center. Make use of it and be sure of the time taken, traffic situation and other necessary factors you should take care of.

4. Spend time with family and friends: Spending time with family and close friends is a good way to keep your motivation level high. You can go for a movie or restaurants or just hit your favorite hangout spot. But make sure they don’t ruin your day by threatening you to get high percentiles in CAT 2011!

5. Do what you like most: Spend the day doing what you like to do most or to put it in a simpler way, just engage in any hobby of yours. It can be reading a book, watching your favorite channel on TV, surfing Internet, playing with your pet or just chilling at home with friends and family. But if your hobby is playing a sport, it is better not to engage yourself in it as it can not only cause accidents but exhaust you as well.

6. Don’t exert yourself: While you surely need to relax and enjoy yourself, don’t think that it’s the dooms day and fulfill all your wishes in one go. It might leave you too exhausted for the next day.

7. Organize yourself: As the day comes to the end, you should get prepared for facing the next day. Ensure you don’t mess up by missing out something important. Carefully organize and keep handy all the documents that you need to take to the test center the next day. Don’t forget to take your CAT Admit Card, Photo Identity Card and other important documents.

8. Check CAT IIM website and watch out for mails and messages from Prometric: Check your mails and mobile messages for updates from IIMs or Prometric. There might be some important notification on the exam eve. Also, as is advised by IIMs and Prometric, go through the Practical Guide to CAT 2011 to know what you can expect on the CAT exam day.

9. Revise concepts and formulae before going off to sleep: Before calling it a day, just leaf through the basic concepts and formulae once. This will keep your mind updated about what you have learnt all through your preparation duration.

10. Get adequate sleep: A fresh body and mind is what you need for the D Day. Get adequate sleep, rather some extra sleep on the night before. As you have to reach the test center minimum one and half hours before the test time, you should sleep off early and get up early after having adequate sleep.
