The tour was kicked off at Pune on the August 19. Dr. Prakash Apte, Director of Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore, inaugurated the event with an Interactive seminar. Dr. Sujit Basu, Director of MDI Gurgaon, addressed the MBA aspirants in a seminar following the inauguration.
According to IMS, over 1500 students flocked the venue and interacted with the 22 participating B-Schools. Says IMS, “For all the MBA aspirants, this one-on-one interaction with the B-Schools was an enriching experience. The students could know everything about the B-Schools’ like the selection criteria, specialization options, and batch profile etc. through this interaction.”
The B-school Tour will travel to Delhi on September 2. At Delhi event, Dr Devi Singh Director, IIM Lucknow will inaugurate the event. Dr. Sujit Basu, Director, MDI Gurgaon and Prof JK Mitra, Dean, FMS Delhi will speak on management education.
The Tour will feature leading B-Schools like the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhunbaneshwar (XIMB), Management Development Institute (MDI) S.P.Jain, SIBM, SCMHRD, MET, IIMs, MICA, IIFT, IILM and NITIE.
Talking about the unique features of the B-school Tour, IMS says, “the tour is a must-attend for all the MBA aspirants, as they will get to experience the B-Schools before actually making it to a B-school. The B-School websites do not provide answers to specific questions. But, at this B-School Tour, the institute representatives would provide students with all the crucial details about their B-Schools.”
The tour will later travel to other centers like Ahmedabad, Kolkotta, Bangalore and Mumbai.
