FOSTIIMA Business School launches undergraduate and postgraduate management programs

The newly-established FOSTIIMA Business School (FBS), Delhi, recently launched its postgraduate and undergraduate programs in the presence of Member of Parliament Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia on September 7 in the capital.

Kumari Selja, Union Minister of State (independent charge) for housing and urban poverty allevation, was also present.

FOSTIIMA is an intiative of seven IIM alumni including noted entrepreneur Mr Jerry Rao. Speaking to MBAUniverse.com Mr Anil Somani, Founder Trustee & Executive Chairman, FOSTIIMA, said, “We imbibe a lot from IIMs and through this initiative we would like to contribute in some way toward society… by developing a talent pool and inculcating in them leadership and managerial skills.”

FOSTIIMA will offer both undergraduate and postgraduate management programs. Its two-year full time postgraduate program will include eight areas of specialization: Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM), Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Management (PGDIBM), Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Banking & Insurance (PGDMBI), Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration- Retail (PGDBAR), Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration- Infrastructure (PGDBAI), Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Administration (PGDTA) and Post Graduate Diploma in Real Estate Management (PGDREM).

To get into these programs one needs to apply with CAT, XAT, MAT or any other MBA entrance test scores. Commenting on the admission in FOSTIIMA Mr Somani, said, “Besides CAT, we have our own written exam called FOSTIIMA Eligibility Aptitude Test (FEAT). It will be held by the month of November.”

According to FOSTIIMA, the tuition fee for its two-year full time postgraduate program Rs 360,000; the fees for its undergraduate program is Rs 225,000.

Commenting on the uniqueness of FOSTIIMA, Mr Somani said, “It is a totally different B-school because of three reasons: one, it is guided by seven alumni of IIM-A who put their experiences together. Two, our faculty has both academic and corporate experience. Three, our huge global network as PAN-IIT and IIM are supporting us.”

FOSTIIMA Business School is a constituent unit of the Sri Balaji Human Resource Development Trust – promoted by seven alumni of the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad of the PGP 71-73 class with Jaithirth (Jerry) Rao, Chairman of Mphasis BFL Ltd, as Chairperson of the Trust. The other six members include Mr Anil Somani, Mr Sunil Kala, Mr TL Palani Kumar, Mr Rajesh Kaura, Mr Rajan Sanghi, and Mr Kamal Sharma.
