IIFT & FICCI to hold symposium on 'Financing corporate India 's growth'

Delhi based Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), along with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is organizing its National Finance Symposium on October 9 in Mumbai.

The symposium will featured on 'Financing corporate India's growth: Trends issue and opportunities'.  On the occasion, the keynote address will be delivered by Mr M Damodaran, Chairman, SEBI.  

Increasing Mergers & Acquisitions is key factor helping Indian companies to emerge on the global stage and the question is how India can fund the growth engine of Indian corporate. The symposium is aimed to explore the new avenues for raising funds. According to IIFT, "This symposium will be a platform for strategists to share their views and to learn about the strategic issues, trends and opportunities involved in financing corporate India's growth." 

The symposium will be divided into four session includes Inaugural session and discussion on 'Emerging Avenues of Financing-The Domestic Angle', 'Cross Border Investment and Financing' and 'Over and Above – Regulatory, Ethical, and Other Issues'.  

The event will also see eminent speakers including Mr. K.T.Chacko, IIFT Director, Mr. Sushil Jiwarajka, Chairman, FICCI Western, Regional Council, Mr. A K Ravi Nedungadi, CFO UB GROUP; Mr. Anand Rathi, Group Chairman; Mr. Falguni Nayar, MD - Kotak Investment, Bank; Mr Koushik Chatterjee, CFO, Tata Steel; Mr. R K Nair, Executive Director, SEBI; Mr. R Sridharan, MD & CEO, SBI Capital, Markets Ltd; Mr. Rashesh Shah, CEO, Edelweiss Capital; Mr. Sanjay Nayar, CEO, Citigroup (India); Mr. Saurabh Shah, Director 3i; Mr. Sunil Gulati, Group President Yes Bank; Mr. Varun Bajpai, MD Corporate Finance, Macquarie Bank.  

This seminar seeks to draw representatives from corporate, Banks, Consultants, Investment Banks, Private Equity, Lawyers and management students. According to IIFT, "It will help the participants to gain strategic insights into the broad trends in the Raising funds, Structural Financing & SPV in Indian Perspective, Emerging Indian credit derivative market's impact on Companies, Laws, Regulations and ethical issues, International fund raising with special emphasis on rupee appreciation, Impact of proposed Mumbai IFC on Indian Corporates and Identifying & Exploiting current opportunities."
