Candidates who already appeared for the CMAT September 2012 exam may also appear for the second test, and the better score of the two tests will be considered for admission.
Candidates applying for the CMAT exam should be graduates in any discipline. Final year graduation students can also apply. The application fee is Rs 1,200 for general category candidates and Rs 600 for SC, ST and PD candidates. In order to register for the exam, visit www.aicte-cmat.in. Candidates will have to choose three cities in order of preference. According to AICTE, “Allotment will be based on the first come first served basis. The actual allotment, however, will be subject to availability of slots in a particular city.”
There are two methods of payment. It can be either made online through net banking, credit or debit cards or by cash payment at any branch of State Bank of India.
CMAT February 2013 exam will be held in two slots -- 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The exam will be held in 62 cities across India. The result will be declared on March 13, 2013. Score cards can be printed from March 13 to April 13, 2012.
Pattern of the test
CMAT is a three-hour test. The sections are: quantitative techniques & data interpretation, logical reasoning, language comprehension and general awareness. The total number of questions is 100, with 25 questions in each section. There is negative marking of one mark and each correct answer will fetch four marks. The overall difficulty level of the exam is easy to moderate.
Admission process
The detailed merit list will be provided to the respective state governments for allotting students through central counselling. In case there is no central counselling, scores awarded can be used for admission in the AICTE-approved institutes or university departments.
The last CMAT exam was conducted in September, in a window of five days, from September 27, 2012, to October 1, 2012.
