IIM-B Vista 07: IIM-B wins market-entry competition Milestones, IMT and SP Jain runner up

Team consisting of Prasun Basu, Gautham Krishnan, Ritika Tondwal of IIM-B won the case study competition titled 'Milestones' which was presented by iconic US company John Deere.

In all 57 teams participated in the competition and 9 best teams were selected to make a presentation to the judges.  

The team from IMT Ghaziabad consisting of Sambit Pattnaik and Rahul Sharma did well to stand second. SP Jain's team comprising of Rajat Chowdhary, Nishant Pradhan and Ganesh Seshadri was adjudged third.  

The wining team of IIM-B won Rs 50,000, while the runners up team won Rs. 30,000. Second runners team won Rs 15,000.  

Milestones is a case-based event that seeks answers to a detailed practical and real-time problem case provided by John Deere. John Deere is a world-class producer of North America's broadest line of lawn and garden tractors, mowers, and other outdoor power products. John Deeere, now in India, invited Indian B-school students to find a key to exploring the rural four-wheeler market based on the special needs of Indian villages and towns.  

According to judges, that comprised of senior executives from John Deere and faculty members, the winning team from IIM-B showed good understanding of consumers and offered fresh insights. Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, the jubilant team from IIM-B said, "We are very happy to win this competition. We prepared hard for it."
