SAIL and IIM-I strike alliance for industry programmes

The Ranchi-based Management Training Institute (MTI) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore

to conduct joint programmes for various organizations in areas of common interest. The MoU was signed by Mr. Sushim Banerjee, Executive Director (HRD), MTI, and Prof. S.P. Parashar, Director, IIM, Indore, in the presence of SAIL's Director (Personnel) Mr. G. Ojha on October 11.

According to SAIL, "This MoU shall enable both the institutes to conduct joint programmes for various organizations in areas of common interest, particularly in steel and allied sectors. The MoU is in line with MTI's sustained endeavour to excel in and contribute more significantly towards management education, training, consultancy and research."

Under the scope of the collaboration, both the institutes will exchange faculty for their programmes. According to SAIL, "MTI and IIM, Indore will also collaborate for development of case studies and joint consultancy for organizations related to steel and allied sectors. Under the MoU, MTI programmes will get certification and faculty input from IIM, Indore . Both institutes will also be able to access each other's databanks and publications."

SAIL's MTI caters to the managerial training needs of corporate cadre executives of SAIL. The institute has been awarded the Golden Peacock National Quality Award twice and has been a winner in the National Competition for Innovative Training Practices.
