XAT 2014 to be held on 5th January 2014
The registration process for XAT 2014 will start from August 12, 2013. The last date is November 22, 2013. The examination will take place on January 5, 2014.
Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2014, conducted for admission to XLRI Jamshedpur and many other top B-schools in India, will be held on January 5, the institute said.

Dr Vishwa Ballabh, admission chairperson, XLRI told MBAUniverse.com that the XAT 2014 will be conducted on the first Sunday of January 2014, i.e. January 5.

“The XAT 2014 will be conducted on 5 January 2014 and the registration for the same will start on August 12,” Dr Vishwa Ballabh said, adding the XAT 2014 will continue to be a one-day paper-pencil test.

The registration will begin on 12 August 2013, and close on 22nd November, he added.

XAT 2013 was held across 44 cities in India and three international cities of Dhaka, Dubai and Kathmandu. However, the test will be held at few additional centres this year including Udaipur, Dr Ballabh said.

The eligibility criterion for XAT 2013 was a bachelor degree from a recognized university or a deemed university. 

Last year, 106 B-schools announced to accept the scores of XAT exam compared with 101 in the previous year. Apart from top B-schools like XLRI, LIBA, Chennai; XIME, Bangalore; XISS Ranchi; Goa Institute of Management; TAPMI, Manipal; BIMTECH, Greater Noida; BULMIM, New Delhi; Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi; IFMR, Chennai; SPJIMR, Mumbai; WeSchool, Mumbai; Jaipuria Institutes of Management; Gitam Institute of Management, Vishakhapatnam, and Globsyn Business School, Kolkata, Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) had accepted XAT 2013 scores for the first time.

The duration of XAT 2013 was 3 hours. According to Prof. Ballabh, the exam was divided into two parts. The first part had domain-specific sections and its duration was 2 hours and 20 minutes. The next had an essay writing question, and also a section on general awareness. The duration of this part was 40 minutes, divided equally between essay writing and the general awareness section.
