MDI Gurgaon gets job for all 312 students; Median salary @Rs 12 lakh

MDI Gurgaon has concluded final placements for its batch of 2013, even as top companies recruited all the passing-out students who sought campus placement at a median salary of Rs 12 lakh.
The average annual package for the students in flagship PGPM programme was Rs 12.8 lakh and the highest salary stood as high as Rs 21.8 lakh
Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon has concluded final placements for its batch of 2013, even as top companies like Axis Bank, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, Ernst & Young, Tata Sons, Times Group, Flipkart, Dell, TCS, Wipro, PepsiCo, Pidilite, Godrej, Adidas recruited all the passing-out students who sought campus placement.

According to the placement committee of MDI, the average annual package for the students in flagship PGPM programme was Rs 12.8 lakh and the highest salary stood as high as Rs 21.8 lakh.  The average annual salaries for the students in PGP-HRM and PGP-IM programmes were Rs 11.8 lakh and Rs 11.7 lakh respectively.  The average annual package for international placements was Rs 34.6 lakhs, the placement committee said, adding, median salary for the batch was Rs 12 lakh.

While a total of 233 students were enrolled in the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), the number of students in the Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM) and Post Graduate Programme in International Management (PGP-IM) were 58 and 34 respectively.

According to the institute, more than 150 companies including over 80 new recruiters participated in the placement process and offered various roles across sectors like Banking, Financial Services, Investment Banking, Consulting, FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, IT, Telecommunications, Pharmaceuticals and Media.

During the placement season 2013 at the campus, as many as 65 students got lateral placement offers and 48 students received Pre-placement offers. A total of 13 students opted out of the placement process to pursue their entrepreneurial journey, the institute said.

Sector wise distribution:

While the BFSI companies emerged the largest recruiters with hiring 28 per cent of the batch, both Consulting and Information Technology (IT) firms offered jobs to 16 per cent of the batch each.  Recruiters in FMCG space hired 15 per cent of the batch. 

A major share of 37 per cent of the students opted for roles in Marketing followed by 27 per cent in Finance.

PGPM: The top companies that recruited PGPM students include Accenture, Adidas, Airtel, AkzoNobel, Amazon, American Express, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Bristlecone, Capgemini, Carlsberg, Castrol, Cisco, Citibank, Citigroup, Cognizant Business Consulting, Dabur, Dell, Deloitte, Dr.Reddy's Laboratories, eBay, Flipkart, Godrej, Goldman Sachs, Honeywell, HSBC, HT Media, ICICI, JP Morgan Chase, KPMG, Langham Capital, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Michael Page, Nivea, Panasonic, PepsiCo, Pidilite, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Procter & Gamble, RBS, Reliance Industries, SBI Caps, Titan, Vodafone and Wipro Consumer Care among others.

PGP-HRM:
Major recruiters for the PGP-HRM students were Aditya Birla Group, Anand Group, Axis Bank, BPCL, Cerebrus Consulting, Citibank, Deloitte, DSCL, Ernst & Young, Genpact, Hay Group, Hero MotoCorp, IBM, ICICI, Interglobe, IOCL, Larsen & Toubro, Michael Page, PeopleStrong, RPG, Tata Sons, Tata Advanced Systems, Times Group, TCS and Vodafone among others.

PGP-IM: The PGP-IM recruiters included Accenture, Bristlecone, Capgemini, Cognizant, Dell, Deloitte, Eli Lilly, GroupM, HSBC, Interglobe, KPMG, Moser Baer, RBS, SBI Caps, Tata Advanced Systems, TCS, Vodafone and Wipro.

“At MDI, the smooth manner in which the Final Placement process took place reaffirmed its place among the premier business schools of the country,” the placement Committee said.

MDI has triple accreditation from Association of MBAs (AMBA) - London, South

Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) – Asia and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) - India.
