Placement 2013: IIM Ranchi average annual package@ Rs 12.4 lakh

IIM Ranchi has concluded final placement process for its batch of flagship PGDM programme, even as a total of 55 top companies offered as many as 74 lucrative jobs to the entire batch of 67 students.
While the average annual salary offered to the IIM Ranchi students was Rs 12.4 lakh, the highest domestic annual salary stood as high as Rs 19 lakh.

IIM Ranchi has concluded final placement process for its batch of flagship PGDM programme, even as a total of 55 top companies including HSBC,  JP Morgan Chase, HT Media, ICICI, KPMG, Maruti, Yes Bank, Pidilite and TATA Steel offered lucrative jobs to entire passing out batch.

While the average annual salary offered to the students was Rs 12.4 lakh, the highest domestic annual salary stood as high as Rs 19 lakhs. The highest annual package for international job offer was Rs 24 lakh per annum, the institute which is in its 4th year, said, adding, as many as eight students received international job offers.

According to IIM Ranchi Placement Committee, the recruiting firms offered as many as 74 jobs to the batch with a total strength of 67 students. Out of the total batch strength, 2 students opted out of the placement process to pursue research and entrepreneurship.

“IIM Ranchi has received excellent response from the industry and attracted prominent companies from diverse domains for the final placement process. Despite the market slowdown, more jobs were offered than the batch strength at IIMR,” said Dr M J Xavier, Director, IIM Ranchi. 

“With the increase in batch size from 43 to 67 this year, numbers of companies also increased significantly with a total of 34 new recruiters visiting the campus this year,” he added.

The recruiters offered to students varied profiles like Investment Banking Research, Corporate Banking, IT consultant, Retail Product Banking, Product Development etc. Other elite roles offered were Global Leadership Program, Strategic Sourcing, Digital Marketing, Data Analytics and Executive Assistant to MD/CEO.

Domain Wise

As much as 46% of the profiles offered at the campus were from sales and marketing, 22 % from finance followed by 15 % of roles in General Management.

Finance: The institute attracted big players in finance domain who offered diverse range of finance roles to 22 % of the batch. A foreign boutique asset management firm offered roles like Real Estate Management. Other roles offered in finance domain included IB Research, Corporate Banking, Retail Product Banking, Cards and Liability Products Management, Credit Research.

Key Recruiters: J.P. Morgan Chase, Yes Bank, HSBC, Altisource, ICICI Bank, ING Vysya, ICRA, Kotak Mahindra, Headstrong. 

Sales & Marketing: The recruiters offered a variety of roles in Sales & Marketing domain like Circulation Marketing, Media Marketing, Rural Marketing, Business Development, E-commerce, Brand Management, Dealer Development, Market Research in sectors like FMCG, Automobile, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Banking, Market Research, Consumer Durables and Media.

Key Recruiters: HT Media, Maruti, Eveready Industries, Berger Paints, Ranbaxy,

Pidilite, Hero MotoCorp, Crompton Greaves, IOCL, Mother Dairy, iCRM, Bisleri.

IT & Operations: Big names like Hero MotoCorp & KPMG recruited from IIMR offering roles in Strategic Sourcing and IT Consulting.

Key Recruiters: MuSigma, KPMG, Steria Systems, Hero Motocorp, McDonalds

Consulting & General Management: The institute also attracted good number of jobs in Consulting and General Management.

Key Recruiters: Boston Analytics, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Formcept, Photon Infotech, TATA Steel, PwC.
