Great Lakes Institute of Energy Management and Research, Gurgaon held its annual Convocation for its new batch of PGPM students on May 24, 2013.

Great Lakes Institute of Energy Management and Research, Gurgaon held its annual Convocation for its new batch of PGPM students on May 24, 2013.  Union Minister of State for HRD Mr Jitin Prasada & Reliance Industries Limited New Ventures CEO and President Mr Vivek Lall attended the ceremony.

Mr Jitin Prasada delivered the convocation address and handed over the certificates to the graduating students.  Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prasada said, “Our growing economy requires well trained and qualified managerial talent. The programs of Great Lakes which are addressing the specific requirements of growing sectors like Energy, Data Analytics, E-commerce and others are need of the hour for our country.”

Dr. B. S. K. Naidu, Chairman, Great Lakes Gurgaon congratulated the passing-out graduates and said, “The graduating class of Energy Management has undergone a uniquely designed energy program that combines the most practical and industry oriented skills training in India with all the key elements of leadership development. We are certain that these graduates would prove to become valuable leaders and contributors towards our energy secure future.”

Congratulating the graduates on successfully completing their course, Dr. Himadri Das, Director, Great Lakes Gurgaon, wished them a successful career ahead.

According to the institute, the Energy Management Class of 2013 received an average compensation of Rs. 8.2 lakh. The placement process saw participation from leading Consulting and Energy related companies such as Deloitte US, Wipro Ecoenergy, Mercados, Cognizant Business Consulting, Indian Energy Exchange, TATA Power DDL, Gulf Oil, Sterlite Energy, CESC, SunEdision, Glencore etc. The profiles offered at the campus included Consulting, Business Development, Operations Planning, Business Analyst, Power/Energy Trading, Project Management, Research and Corporate Finance.

The 1-year PGPM program graduates also had excellent placements across marquee companies with average compensation of Rs. 8.9 lakh. The key recruiters who participated in the process included Consulting companies like Deloitte, Ernst & Young and KPMG, IT companies like HCL, TCS, Cognizant, L&T Infotech, Maverick Systems etc., Digital Commerce companies like Yatra, Groupon India, Jabong, MakeMyTrip, ShopClues and Snapdeal, Analytics Companies including Mu Sigma, Dolcera, American Express, Groupon US, E&Y Analytics, WNS, Bridgei2i and other diversified companies like Nippon Paints, Indus Ind Bank, DLF Pramerica, Murugappa Group and Britannia’s Daily Bread. The profiles offered included Product Management, Project Management, Business Development, Business Analyst, Pre-Sales etc.
