Last year's Open SimCAT, organized by IMS Learning, stumped the CAT aspirants with the innovative test paper format. Open SimCAT was designed to make the students CAT-ready.

Bolstered by the positive student feedback on last year's Open SimCAT, IMS has scheduled this year's SimShock for November 4. Test is open for non-IMS students also.

Says IMS, "SimShock is a must take for all the CAT 07 aspirants as it will give them a chance to experience the CAT one time before the actual CAT."

The IMS' Academic Innovation Wing last year had crafted an innovative paper in terms of structure and pattern. Even Math section had poetry in it! Last year's Open SimCAT became popular with the student community for the shock it gave them.

Sharing the objective behind the test design, IMS says, "CAT can be tamed by those who manage to remain composed under any given test scenario. While conceptual clarity and management aptitude are the requisites for taking the CAT; poise, confidence and presence of mind are instrumental for succeeding at the test. Open SimCAT format checks CAT aspirants on all these areas."

IMS says that the test would be relevant to the CAT 2008 aspirants in many ways too. To experience the CAT, students need to be in their final graduation year. But, CAT aspirants today prefer to start their preparation earlier than that. In their sophomore year itself, students start readying themselves for the CAT.

IMS says that SimShock this time will be shocking enough to make news. To register for the SimShock one can visit the nearest IMS centre or you can register at the venue to get cracking. ( http://www.imsindia.com/simshock/ .)
