The admissions process for the third batch of IIM-A's Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) is now complete.

IIM-A received 1352 applications this year, which is an increase of about 60% over the previous year. IIM-A is targeting a batch size of 80 with one section.

The average GMAT score for the entering batch of 2008 is a high 731. This is amongst the highest in the world. For instance, the entering class of 2006 at Harvard Business School had an average GMAT score of 707, and Wharton had an average GMAT score of 713.

The selectivity ratio for the third batch will be about 1 candidate admitted per 16.5 applicants. This also compares favorably with the best MBA programme in the world for experienced executives. Stanford Business School, for example, has a selectivity ratio of about 1:14, says IIM-A.

Additionally, IIM-A also expect about 10% of the entering batch of PGPX III to be women, compared to 5% for the second batch.

PGPX is a full time residential programme for executives with substantial work experience leading to a One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives. The objective of the programme is to develop enthusiastic and aspirational executives into management leaders and change agents in the global arena. The programme has a general management focus, with emphasis on managing across borders and cultures. It has an international project (called International Immersion) besides teaching content drawn from many countries.
