In his first major step towards building new academic processes at IIM Ahmedabad, newly appointed director Dr Ashish Nanda has appointed three new Deans at the Institute.
While Dr G Raghuram has been appointed new dean for Faculty, Dr Ajay Pandey and Dr Arvind Sahay have taken charge as Dean-Programmes and Dean-Alumni and External Relations respectively.
Announcing the new appointments, Dr Ashish Nanda who joined IIM-A from Harvard Law School, said, "I look forward to working with the Deans and the Faculty to build on the Institute's strength".
Dr G Raghuram has been a faculty at IIM Ahmedabad since1985. He was the Vice Chancellor of the Indian Maritime University from July 2012 to March 2013. He specialises in infrastructure and transport systems and logistics and supply chain management. Dr Raghuram has also taught at universities in India, USA, Canada, Yugoslavia, Singapore, Tanzania and UAE. Dr Raghuram has a BTech degree from IIT, Madras; a postgraduate diploma in management from IIM, Ahmedabad; and a PhD from Northwestern University, USA.
Dr Ajay Pandey currently works as Professor at IIMA. He was the Director In-charge and the Officiating Dean of the Institute. He has over 18 years of experience in teaching, training and consultancy. He was also the chairperson of the PGP programme of IIMA and chaired the Finance & Accounting area of IIM-A.
Dr Arvind Sahay joined IIMA in June 2004 from London Business School where he had been teaching since his Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a B Tech from IIT Kanpur and PGDM from IIM, Ahmedabad. At the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, he has taught the basic marketing courses on the PGP, PGPX and PGP-PMP programs. In addition, he teaches elective courses on pricing, international trade, brand management, neuroscience and consumer behavior, tracking organizational performance and brand management and valuation. Dr Sahay has also worked and his executive education and consulting clients include a wide range of renowned brands and corporate players.
