More working engineers have registered for NMAT as compared to the last year even as NMAT admission office expected the total number of registration to cross 60000 mark before the last date of September 24 2013.
The NMAT admission office said, as the trends from past years suggest, the registration will pick in the last 4-5 days which may take the total number of registration to around 60,000 this year.

“The ratio of engineers has gone up from 65% last year to 68% this year. The ratio of applicants with technical work experience is 35% whereas the ratio of candidates with experience of more than 20 months has gone up from 23% last year to 26% this year,” the NMAT admission office said, adding, “The above trends are based on NMAT registrations till 12 noon on 19th September”.

The NMAT admission office said, as the trends from past years suggest, the registration will pick in the last 4-5 days which may take the total number of registration to around 60,000 this year. Last year around 54000 candidates registered for the test.

Speaking on the registration trends, Dr Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS said that more working professionals are opting for MBA programmes to improve their skills amidst the slowing economy.  "In the time of economic uncertainty, it is a good strategy to invest in skill development to create a better career. The NMAT trend till date show that candidates with engineering background having more than 20 month experience is aspiring to get NMIMS MBA." He adds, "NMIMS MBA is valued highly by the industry. The excellent placement track record of our B-School, since the first batch in 1983, is based on our strong industry linkages with more than 500 companies.

For the current batch, the MBA students at NMIMS have already received 65 pre-placement offers from companies like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Microsoft, Wipro, Idea, ICICI, Cognizant, Cummins, Henkel, Starcom, Genpact, Group M.

NMIMS Business School opened registrations for its admission test NMAT 2014 on 4th July for admission to MBA 2014-16. The registrations will close on 24th September. Candidates can register online for NMAT 2014 at www.nmims.edu. NMIMS will conduct NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) 2014 in almost one and a half month window beginning 5th October and ending 18th December 2013.

The admission test of NMIMS B-School, NMAT will be conducted for fifth time in online mode by the global testing agency Pearson-Vue. It is one of the largest computer based tests in India having a country wide access to the test takers. NMAT also offers two optional retakes for the candidates.

NMAT 2014 will be conducted at 18 centers located at Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Bhillai, Bhopal, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata and Patna.

NMIMS School of Business Management (SBM) conducts NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) for admission to its different management programmes including two Year Full -Time programs MBA, MBA – Banking, MBA – Capital Market, MBA-HR, & MBA-Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai campus and PGDM at Bengaluru & Hyderabad Campuses.
