AIMA will confer Managing India Awards 2013 to Wipro Chairman Mr Azim Premji, ICICI Bank Chairman Mr K V Kamath and ICICI Bank MD & CEO Ms Chanda Kochhar at 40th AIMA National Management Convention on 26-27 September in New Delhi.
While Mr Azim Premji will be conferred “AIMA Managing India Award for Corporate Citizen of the Year”, Mr K V Kamath and Ms Chanda Kochhar will receive “AIMA Managing India Award for Outstanding Institution Builder” and “AIMA JRD Tata Corporate Leadership Award” respectively during the 2-day national convention.
Mr Rajiv Vastupal, Past President, AIMA and Chairman & Managing Director, Rajiv Petrochemicals will receive “AIMA Honorary Life Fellowship” and Mr R Gopalakrishnan, Past President, AIMA and Director, Tata Sons will receive “AIMA Dr Ram Tarneja Certificate for Best Article in Indian Management”.
The two-day AIMA National Management Convention on theme - “Courage in Uncertainty”, will be addressed by distinguished speakers including key ministers of Government of India, prominent leaders of Opposition in the Parliament, CEOs, and eminent management experts. Bollywood star Mr Shahrukh Khan will address a Special Plenary Session on “The Role of Courage in Success”. The Convention aims to raise an array of issues that need to be tackled by courageous leadership and find solutions to the problems emanating from the prevailing uncertainty.

The two day program will comprise 11 sessions with each of the sessions covering different relevant issues revolving around the theme like ‘How can CSR be made as effective as philanthropy’, ‘What can be done to quickly reduce the anxiety about country’s deficits and currency’, ‘How can the government and political parties channelize the energy of young Indians into nation building’, ‘How can business organizations enhance young Indians' potential and create economic opportunities for them’, ‘Which bold decisions do India’s business, political and cultural leaders need to take to give the country a sense of direction’, ‘How could a more sustainable economic consensus be achieved among political parties and social groups’.
AIMA is an established industry body focussed on management learning and practice in India and offers various services in the areas of testing, distance education, research, publications and management development programmes. The National Management Convention (NMC) is the annual flagship event of AIMA which addresses a theme of topical national interest, where eminent speakers from different spheres share their views with participants through interactive sessions.
