IIM Calcutta is getting ready to host its annual International Business School meet -- Intaglio. The three day event will be held on January 4-6, 2008. The theme for Intaglio 2007-08 is 'Reaching Out… Staying Ahead'.

India Business Forum of London Business School is the knowledge partner and Aditya Birla Group will be the title partners of this initiative.

Apart from host of Indian B-schools, IIM-C is expecting students from many top notch international B-schools like Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, London Business School and ESSEC to participate. Says IIM-C, "Intaglio attracts some of the largest international participation, and it is set to grow even higher this year. Intaglio has already received confirmation of participation from over a dozen foreign business schools, including the Ivy League. Growing from the 40 Indian b-schools and 60 foreign schools last year, Intaglio has invited the top 60 institutes in India and close to 120 schools from across continents."

IIM-C informed MBAUniverse.com that there are several new initiatives lined up for this edition of Intaglio. Says IIM-C, "Over the years, Intaglio has evolved into one of the few business meets of international standard. With some of the largest exclusive events, encompassing all the facets of management, from Finance to Marketing, Strategy to Systems and Operations, Intaglio is widely recognized as the best business meet in the country."

Talking about the theme of 'Reaching Out… Staying Ahead'. IIM-C says, "Boundaries and limits are set only by the ability to dream, and the new era calls for an exploration beyond these old mental blocks, to reach out and uncover new avenues. It is this yearning to reach out to the future, the courage to experiment and the urge to stay ahead that Intaglio 2007-08 stands for."

In past, Intaglio has had speakers like Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Mr. Azim Premji, Professor Mohanbir Shawney, Mr. Omkar Goswami, Mr. Manoj Kohli and Mr. Sunil Alagh among others. Intaglio is expecting confirmations from several celebrated speakers from across the world soon.

The most watched events at Intaglio will be Swiss Knife. Swiss Knife is awarded to the best overall team, the one that outperforms the competition consistently across the diverse events at Intaglio. Swiss Knife carries a prize money of INR 200,000 and the Swiss Knife trophy, along with a surprise gift for each member of the winning team.
