NITIE Mumbai Organizes its Cultural Fest

The National Institute of Industrial Training (NITIE), Mumbai organized Arohan, the annual cultural fest from the night of October 18 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations under Avartan.
Nukkad plays were also organized by the students through which they tried to get the audiences attention towards the critical societal evils like child marriage, kidnapping, rape and killing.

The National Institute of Industrial Training (NITIE), Mumbai organized Arohan, the annual cultural fest from the night of October 18 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations under 'Avartan'. The three day event which was held in the lawns of the institute is billed as the largest cultural celebration in the college.

Arohan 2013 gave the students of the institute a reason to cheer for 3 days full of cultural festivities as hundreds ascended the 96 steps onto the NITIE Lawns for the first Inter B school cultural festival of NITIE. The event was organized by the cultural team of the institute.The chief guest of the event was veteran actor Asha Sharma who congratulated the institute for completing 50 years. She was presented a Golden Jubilee memento from institute’s director Prof. Karuna Jain.

Scores of performers came on the stage with musical drama, standup comedy, dazzling fashion parade, foot stomping dances and the rocking band show on Arohan freshers’ night on October 18, 2013.

The informal events of the inter B school cultural fest tested the creative quotient of the participants in which they participated in graffiti and collage making competitions. Nukkad plays were also organized by the students through which they tried to get the audience’s attention towards the critical societal evils like child marriage, kidnapping, rape and killing. Rock bands from different B schools of Mumbai also participated in the ‘war of bands’ which was held in the institute for the first time since its inception.

A short story movie competition named ‘’chalchitra’’ was held in which IIM Indore walked away with top honour for its movie on Women Empowerment. Saptarshi. An inter B school dance competition, ‘Nrityotsav’ was also organized.Arohan 2013 was a success for the institute and the arrangement of the event was praised by faculties, students as well as staffs. The whole event was presented by 93.5 RedFm and was partnered by Zoot, in association with MTV.

NITIE Mumbai was established in the year 1963 by Government of India with a mission to raise productivity of Indian industry and optimum utilization of resources.
