The PGPX students of IIM Ahmedabad organized ConneXion the annual business event of the institute from Oct 24-26, 2013.The purpose of the program was to bring the eminent personalities on a single platform to debate the contemporary issues facing corporate leaders and public policy makers
The objective of the event was to drive industry interaction with academia.
The event was inaugurated by the Dr. K. C. Chakrabarty, Deputy Governor of RBI. In his inaugural address, he spoke about how ideas and their exchange fueled the Industrial Revolution. He appealed to the academia to encourage horizontal replication of best practices pointing towards the disparate agricultural productivity levels between Punjab, Haryana and rest of the India.
The agenda on which the distinguished speakers discussed were Bridging the divide: Subsidy to Sustainability, Redefining Made in India: Low Cost to High Value, New Media New Rules, Building India's leadership pipeline.
Distinguish speakers who shared their views included Amit Agarwal, VP and Country Manager, Amazon India; Rahul S Vergese, Founder, Running and Living Infotainment; Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister, Govt. of India, Chairman – Council on Energy, Environment and Water and others.
In this three day event, there were also sub events like 5K RUN, X-BIZ and Alumni meet. The 5K run is a PGPX tradition. It was held a day prior to ConneXion. The 5K run event symbolizes and celebrates the family environment at IIMA wherein not only the students (PGP, PGPX and FPM) but also the faculty, the staff and their families participated in the run.
X-BIZ is an annual event organized to provide a platform where industry and students come together to address contemporary issues. Alumni meet hosted on campus alongside Connexion and XBIZ on Oct 26th. Previous PGPX batches have been invited to campus to attend the alumni-meet.
