TISS NET
TISS extended the last date for filling the application form for TISS NET (TISS National Entrance Test) for 2014 - 2016 Batch to Friday, November 15, 2003. The examination date of TISS NET has also been re scheduled to December 22, 2013.
TISS NET is a Computer based National Entrance test which will be will be held on December 22, 2013 in 35 centres located in different parts of the country. The computer based test is of objective type and even those with a rudimentary knowledge of working with a computer can take the test. It’s a 1 hour 40 minutes long test start from 2 pm till 3:40 pm. The objective test will have questions related to General Knowledge; Analytical Ability, Logical Reasoning; and English Proficiency.

TISS – An Overview
School of Management and Labour Studies
Among the various schools of TISS, School of Management and Labour Studies, Mumbai comes up with management courses with a mission to provide quality human service professionals for a variety of stakeholder groups in the development process. It offers 3 M.A. programmes in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations, Globalisation and Labour, and Social Entrepreneurship; and an Executive Diploma programme in Human Resources Management.There are five following centres of the school in Mumbai which offer management related courses :
1. Centre for Human Resources Management and Labour Relations: The centre offers M. A. in Human Recourse Management and Labour Studies which is designed to develop students into professionally competent and socially sensitive management graduates, fully equipped to take on the challenges of the corporate world. The TISS HRM & LR occupy positions of leadership across a wide spectrum of industries and sectors including IT/ITeS, Banking and Finance, Manufacturing, Retail and Management Consultancy. It has an intake of 60 students.
2. Centre for Labour Studies: The Masters Degree in Globalisation and Labour at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai is a two year programme offered by the Global Labour University, an offshoot of International Labour Organisation (ILO) Geneva. The programme looks to engage students in the study of various labour related issues and the nuances, consequences and challenges that follow the process of globalization.
3. Centre for Social Entrepreneurship: It offers a two-year, full time, Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship (MA in SE) aiming at training and developing change leaders who contribute to social progress. It has an intake of 30 students.
4. Centre for Social and Organizational Leadership (C SOL): The Center for Social and Organizational Leadership has been established to develop Leadership in businesses, government, not-for-profit organisations and communities.
5. Centre for Public Policy and Governance.
Eligibility:
Candidates having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the courses in above mentioned centres of School of Management and Labour Studies.
