Noticing the new phase of technological innovation, IIM Kozhikode is organizing Annual IT Management Summit -- AIMS 2007.

The theme of the summit is 'The New Frontiers of Technology: Consumer Internet, Wireless and Mobile.' The summit will be held on November 17-18 at the IIM-K campus. This student-driven IT summit will bring together speakers from a mixture of start-ups and global leaders including Mr. Jaspreet Bindra, the Country Head of MSN India, Mr. Ananth Krishnan, VP and CTO of TCS, Mr. Lil Mohan the MD of the WiMax Divison at Intel, Mr. Romal Shetty who heads KPMG's Telecom division and Mr. Sandeep Shrivastav, the Director of Search at Yahoo! India during the Ecclesia, the session by eminent speakers. 

This summit will comprised of panel discussion and several contests like case study competition 'Cognizant Sys-o-Mania'; Paper Presentation Contest 'IAMAI KonnectIndia'; Quiz competition including 'Yahoo! Best Answers', 'Quiz@10', and games like 'Celebrations', nutcracker.    

The panel discussion on 'A Nation Online: How the internet is changing our everyday lives,' will feature the CEO of Bharat Matrimony, Mr. Murugavel Janakiraman, the Co-Promoter and COO of Naukri.com, Mr. Hitesh Oberoi and Mr. Manoj Gupta, VP of Nexus India Capital Partners, a venture capital firm. The discussion will be moderated by well-known blogger and Founder-Director of f5ive Technologies, Mr. Kiruba Shankar. Cypress Semiconductors and SAP Labs will conduct in-depth workshops as part of AIMS 2007.  

AIMS 2007 will also launch ConnectCalicut, a round table discussion on Calicut as an IT destination in association with Calicut IT Initiative (CITI, a professional citizens' initiative). During discussion decision-makers from major IT companies, the Kerala Government and infrastructure developers including the Aditya Birla Group will come together. The IT and Industry secretaries of Kerala, and the District Collector of Calicut will also present on the occasion. According to IIM-K, "Through this initiative IIMK students have been helping the IT ministry draft an IT Policy and developing a strategy plan to attract software companies to Calicut."
