Familiarise yourself to IIFT entrance
It will be quite helpful to visit the IIFT website to familiarise yourself with the rules and regulations and how to attempt the entrance test on 24.11.2013 in the examination hall. It will save some time as well as will infuse more confidence. Please attend to the following guidelines, before getting ready for the examination.
CBT V/s paper pencil examination
Those who are fresh from CAT 2013 Computer Based Test (CBT) need more practice how to mark the answer in paper-pencil mode. Prior to the examination day, you should devote half an hour to go through the exact pattern of test.
Required Documents
Keep the documents ready as they will allow you to enter the examination hall. If you haven’t received your Admit card or have lost it, just relax, you can download the duplicate one from the site. However, ensure that you are carrying the necessary documents and stationery with you.

To do list before arriving at Examination Centre
You are supposed to report at the examination centre one hour before the scheduled time of examination, so reach there well in time. Check the distance, mode of conveyance and time to cover this distance, to reach the examination centre. You are supposed to be absolutely clear on this aspect, so plan your travel accordingly. If you are an outsider, reach a day before and stay as near to the centre as possible
At the Examination Centre
The check-in process would start half an hour before the examination. Keep your documents and other articles ready for IIFT 2013 exam. Please do not carry mobile phone, large bags and other articles prohibited in the examination room as you may find it difficult to store them. It is advisable not to carry valuables to the test centres as there may not be any facility to store them.
It is also suggested to go to the wash room before the doors are closed. Please note that, after the doors are closed and during the test period, you may not be allowed to go to the rest room as it will be a continuous test of about two hours without break.

Before the test
Read carefully all the instructions given on the IIFT 2013 question booklet. You are supposed to write your Roll number on question booklet as well as on answer sheet. Further, don’t forget to write the question booklet serial number on answer sheet.
Please remember, if you forget either of two, it will not be possible to evaluate your answer sheet.
Please check that your HB pencil is appropriately sharpened neither too sharp nor blunt. Once again read the instructions to understand the method of darkening the circle for correct answer.
The instructions on IIFT 2013 question booklet clearly define the penalty for each wrong answer which has so far been one fourth of the maximum allotted marks to the question.
During the Examination
IIFT 2013 entrance is divided in four sections and you are supposed to clear the cut off in each section. There will be questions in the range of 120 to 130 to be solved in 120 minutes; hence it is imperative that you have to manage the time besides improving your attempts. Please also avoid wrong and doubtful attempts as there is negative marking for wrong answers.
Please remember not to look around when the examination begins. Any activity to peep at other candidates will be captured on surveillance cameras and may render the candidate disqualified for the test. Besides, every test booklet will be different from the other, so it may not be useful to waste your time in looking around.
Begin the first attempt with your strong areas. You may attempt questions in any section and can go through the entire test booklet. You may go for 20-30 attempts as you can move from one section to another without any hindrance.
IIFT 2013 had a cut off of around 50 marks; you can score more than that. If you have this confidence you can definitely be a winner. Reading comprehension and Jumbled Paragraphs in IIFT 2013
Reading comprehension passages and Jumbled paragraph may constitute a major chunk in English Comprehension section with more than 18 questions in IIFT 2013. While going through the Reading comprehension passages note down important words and sentences, and by the time you finish reading the passage, you will have a fair understanding of the same. This will enable you to answer most of the questions based on RC passages.
Maintain your cool while solving the Jumbled paragraphs. The important tip, to solve the parajumbles is to find out the connectors to sentences e.g. conjunctions, personal or relative pronouns (He/ she/ it /they /their /who / whose/that/which etc.) as they indicate that the same must have been used in place of some nouns. So find the link between the sentences. One is required to link the sentences in accordance with the information provided in the paragraph.
Important Tip for IIFT 2013
Most of the candidates try to read and practice more mocks etc. on the day before their examination, thinking it will help more. In view of Prof. S.K. Agarwal, expert in Verbal Ability, this practice, in fact, becomes detrimental to your confidence level. Candidates should keep themselves calm and confident to take the bull by the horns on examination day, refresh themselves and avoid any hard hitting practice sessions. Do not go to IIFT 2013 exam with a biased mind; be open to all types of questions.
IIFT 2013 Results
The IIFT 2013 entrance exam for the academic year 2014-16 is scheduled on Sunday, November 24, 2013. The IIFT 2013 result date is expected that the IIFT 2013 Result will be declared by mid December 2013. The first list of IIFT 2013 result will contain the shortlist candidates name for GD PI WAT round. The final IIFT 2013 result will be out after GD PI WAT round.
