Understand the trend-How to write

The trend can be well understood by analyzing the topics. The essays are either on contemporary issues, socio-economic, socio-political, sports or abstract topics. It is easy to gather the information on current and contemporary topics since it is very much available on various media platforms but for abstract topics, one has to think what should be the right approach and what would be the contents.

XAT 2014 had the essay topic ‘Beautiful things are not to be touched but are felt.’ What in fact are the beautiful things-physical or abstract; how can the beauty be felt without touching it; were mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi were beautiful-if yes, how; if a human being touches any beautiful thing, would it become dirty; how to differentiate between inner beauty and outward beauty; is the beauty only skin deep. All these thoughts were supposed to be gathered and an outline was to be framed before beginning to write. Another important factor is-you must be aware of what you are writing and should be able to recall the same because questions in PI round may be formed on your writing piece.
