Common Admission Process (CAP) for admission to PGDM 2014-16 batch to six new IIMs Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Trichy, Udaipur will be coordinated by IIM Trichy after declaration of shortlist on January 25, 2014. MBAUniverse.com has brought to you this unique opportunity to know beforehand your chances of receiving the call for CAP- Common Admission Process for the New IIMs.

New IIMs Common Admission process 2014: Know the stepwise process

Step1

Individual IIMs will prepare a shortlist based on their short listing criteria. These shortlists will be combined for further processing by IIM Trichy, the coordinating IIM. Admission committee for the new IIMs has decided 96+ as the cut off percentile for 5 IIMs to call the aspirants for CAP.

New IIMs Admission Shocker: Below 97 percentile stand no chance!

However, IIM Rohtak has slightly lower cut off criteria.  IIM Admission 2014: Chance for 85 percentilers to get into an IIM

Although IIM Trichy coordinating the second admission round process 2014 for six new IIMs, will call candidates 12 times of the proposed intake, only the candidates meeting the cut-off criteria listed in CAT 2013 component scores in respective categories will be considered for short listing. More important is the fact that only candidates meeting the cut-off criteria listed in qualification cut off, for X, XII and Under-Graduate (UG) reported marks in respective categories will be considered for the short listing in final admission round.

Prof Hari Shree kumar, chairperson (Admissions) IIM Trichy has clarified “The uploaded percentile cut-offs are applicable for IIMs at Trichy, Raipur, Ranchi, Kashipur and Udaipur. The short listing procedure for Rohtak is different, and hence the cut-off for Rohtak might vary slightly from this.”  Apart from this “IIMs Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow and Kozhikode are sharing shortlists for the CAP”

Step 2

A few older IIMs are also participating in CAP. Hence from the combined list, names of candidates called for interviews by IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode will be set aside. The remaining candidates will be called for Common Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test (PI & WAT)
The PI & WAT scores for candidates set aside from the common shortlist will be obtained from the respective older IIMs from which they got the interview calls. Those who have been called by more than one older IIM will have their PI & WAT scores averaged across the IIMs where they have appeared for interviewing.

Step 3

The eligible candidates will be ranked on the basis of their actual Grand Total Score and top specified number will be called for the PA process above a required percentile. Status for PI & WAT admission round will be available w. e. f. January 26, 2014.

Admission status will be available on the Common Admission website by 30th January 2014. Requests for change of centre for PI & WAT have to reach the Admissions cell of IIM Trichy on or before 3rd February 2014.

Step 4

Each IIM will take the PI & WAT score of the candidates shortlisted by them and combine it with other scores - CAT score, Profile score and any other score to make their own individual merit list to make final offers to the candidates.

Common Admission Process 2014: Venues for PI & WAT

The Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test would be conducted at New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. The exact date for PI & WAT will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates.

In cases where candidates have been shortlisted by the six new IIMs as well as older IIMs, IIM Trichy may collect the PI & WAT scores directly from the older IIMs. Such candidates will be informed in advance, and they need not appear for IIM Trichy’s PI & WAT.

The Final Selection List (FSL)

Please note that only the PI and WAT are conducted commonly by the six new IIMs. The final merit list of candidates will be arrived at by each IIM according to its own selection criteria. These criteria will be available on the websites of the respective institutes.

Final Selection List (FSL) will be declared based on CAT score, PA score and profile score including Work Experience (WE) score as assessed during the PA process, score for Past Academic Performance (PAP) and any other criterion included
