When, Where, How can I apply to MAH CET?

 Query 1: When can I register for MAHCET 2014?
 Registration to MAHCET was opened on January 27, 2014 and will continue till 5 P.M. on February 14, 2014. It is better to register early as technical glitches at the last moment might create problems. Aspirants have to register on line on MAHCET site.
 

Query 2: What are the application fees for MAH CET 2014?

Application Fees for Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates and NRI/Foreign Nationals, / PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates = Rs. 1000
 

For Candidates of Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC] and & Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only = Rs. 800

 Query 3: I appeared in CAT and XAT and now I am going to appear in CMAT. Do I have to appear in MAHCET also to seek admission in B schools like JBIMS, SIMSREE, Welingkar, KJ Somaiya, etc?
 If you have appeared in any of the All India management entrance test like CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, you don’t need to appear again in MAHCET. But, it is mandatory to register for it to participate in MAHCET Centralized Admission Process (CAP). It is not compulsory to appear in MAH CET 2014 if you have appeared for nationally recognized tests like CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA. Your score of All India CET will be valid for the admission.
 

You are required to register for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2014 in order to be eligible for GD & PI in Common Admission Process(CAP). You should appear in MAHCET to improve your scores, if you feel that your percentile in All India tests is low.

 

Query 4: When I register for MAHCET and if I appear in the test also, will it bleak my chances of admission to B schools?

 No, it will not. On the contrary, if your scores are higher in MAHCET than what you scored in any other All India test, your better score will be considered for admission. After registration, it is up to you to take or not to take the test.

Domicile consideration: Chances for outside Maharashtra Candidates

Query 1: I am residing in Maharashtra. Do I have a preference?

 According to MBAUniverse.com research of DTE Maharashtra documents on MAH CET, availability of seats for Maharashtra Domicile candidates will be as follows:

Query 2: I am a Non-Maharashtra candidate. What are my chances?

Students outside the state of Maharashtra are in a fix if they can take the test, and do they stand a fair chance. As a Non Maharashtra candidate, you indeed stand a good chance. According to MBAUniverse.com research of DTE Maharashtra documents on MAH CET, availability of seats for outside Maharashtra candidates will be as follows:

For Government aided colleges: 15% of the seats for the candidates outside Maharashtra will be reserved in Government aided colleges like JBIMS Mumbai; SIMSREE Mumbai; Department of  Management Sciences (PUMBA) University of Pune; Audyogik Shikshan Mandal (ASM) Pune, etc

Private unaided B schools: There will be 35% of intake for admission seekers from outside Maharashtra state in Private unaided B schools like

 K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai; Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai;Institute of Mangement Education Research & Training, Pune;Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Management & Researchi, Pimpri, etc

Query 3: I am an out of Maharashtra candidate. In case I wish to appear in MAH CET 2014, do I have to go to Maharashtra to take the test?

MBAU- It is not necessary. Any 3 of the 34 examination centres in Maharashtra or any 3 of the following 12 centres outside Maharashtra can be opted in order of preference to indicate the choice of centres -Ahmedabad (Gujrat); Bengluru (Karnataka); Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh); Jaipur (Rajasthan); Kolkata (West Bengal); Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh); New Delhi (Delhi); Panji (Goa); Patna (Bihar); Raipur (Chattisgarh); Ranchi (Jharkhand); Shrinagar (Jammu and Kashmir).

Which B-schools are accepting MAHCET ?

Query 1: How many b schools will accept MAHCET 2014 scores. Can you name a few? Where can I find the complete list?

406 institutes with a total of 45,621 seats will use MAH-MBA / MMS-CET 2014 for admission to their MBA/MMS courses in Maharashtra. A few of them are JBIMS, SIMSREE, Welingkar, KJ Somaiya, Dy. Patil management Institute.

Query 2:- Do I have to apply individually to all the institutes where I want to be considered for admission?

It is not necessary. Institute will be allotted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Candidate will have to contact the institute to confirm the admission after that. The candidates applying to institute level/minority seats should apply directly to the institute.

The Centralized Admission Process will consist of total four rounds, out of which first three rounds shall be based on computerized allotment and last round by counseling. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready at the time of Document verification stage at ARC as per the notified schedule.

What is the Syllabus & How do I prepare for MHCET?

Query 1: I didn’t appear in any of the all India entrance exam and I am outside Maharashtra candidate. How could I be considered?

You should appear in MAH CET and score good marks to be considered for B schools in Maharashtra.

Query 2: What are the components of MAHCET exam, duration and pattern?

MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2014 shall be conducted online. There will be 200 multiple choice objective type questions (MCQs). MAH CET will be of 150 minutes duration test. Maximum marks awarded will be 200 meaning 1 mark per correct answer. There will be multiple sessions from 15th March 2014 to 16th March 2014 in the test. No penalty of negative marking for any wrong answer will be imposed. Candidates will not have any fear of losing marks on this count.

Query 3: What is the syllabus and composition of MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014?

MAH CET Syllabus is divided in three parts. Verbal Ability & Reading comprehension; Quantitative aptitude; Logical and abstract Reasoning. Although there is no fixed number of questions in each section, there could be around 80 questions on VARC; 50 on Quant; 70 on reasoning. Number could slightly be more or less.

Query 4: Will it be section restricted test governed by the time limit?
No, you can move to any question in any section during the currency of test duration.

Query 5: I have good grasp of Quant and LR, what should I prepare for Verbal?

MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2014 results will be declared on April 21, 2014. As per the notification of DTE Maharashtra, declaration of MAH CET 2014 results will take place on 21/04/2014 at 5.00PM
