MBA Admission in Mumbai: IES MCRC Mumbai - Admissions are open, grab the opportunity

IES Management College and Research Centre (IES MCRC) is one of the premier B schools in Mumbai located in Bandra area that may cater to your dream of pursuing MMS/PGDM from a very good B school which provides great learning experience along with good campus placement.

Full time programmes
IES offers two years full time MMS and PGDM programmes with specialization in Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, IT, PGDM,  PGDM (Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management). Besides there are number of part time management programmes offered by the Institute.

MMS Programme at IES is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and is affiliated to University of Mumbai.

PGDM programmes at the B school are duly approved by AICTE and are much sought after by the management aspirants.

Admission process for MMS and intake
There are 60 seats available for this programme. Since MMS is a Mumbai University programme the short listing of the candidates will be made on the basis of their performance in any of the entrance tests like CAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/MAT MAHCET.  No separate application is needed nor will individual cutoff be applied by IESMCRC for admission to MMS programme. 

There will be a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE Maharashtra, after the declaration of results of MAHCET on April 21, 2014.  Candidates who registered themselves for MAHCET 2014 and have taken any of the above tests will be allotted institutes on the basis of CAP.

Admission to PGDM-Last date is April 25, 2014

PGDM and PGDM (HPCM) have 120 and 60 seats respectively which can be considered a good intake. Applications for first admission round were made available from January 28, to March 1, 2014 and for second round last date will be April 25, 2014.  Candidates are supposed to apply individually to the institute.

Short listing criteria at IEC MCRC Mumbai

According to Prof Mrinal Joshi, Chairperson admissions, IESMCRC ‘We do not have any cut-off since the short-listing of candidates is based on the composite scores of Aptitude Test Scores, Scholastic Records, and Performance in Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.’

Following weightages will be awarded while short listing the candidates for admission-

Maximum weightage score will be of 400 marks. Five different parameters with varying weightage will be the key criteria for admission. Entrance test score will have a weightage of 100 marks (25% of total weightage);  Class 10th and class 12th marks will have weightage of 50 and 100 marks respectively i.e. 12.5 and 25 percent marks. Apart from this there will be presentation round and personal interview carrying a maximum weightage 50 and 100 mark respectively.

GDPIWAT round at IES

Final admission round at IES will have two components Micro Presentation (MP) round and Personal Interview (PI). Whether the candidate will be offered admission to PGDM will greatly depend upon both of them.   

Know about Micro Presentation in GDPI round
Micro presentation is a short extempore speech in final admission round. Candidate will be given a topic and will have to begin speaking on it within 30-40 seconds.  Prof Mrinal Joshi, IEC Mumbai shares with MBAUniverse.com about the information on Micro Presentation (MP) ‘applicant will be required to give a short presentation of 5 minutes duration on a topic given to them on the spot. Presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. The Micro presentation is meant for assessing communication skills, presentation skills and subject knowledge of the applicant.’

Personal interview will follow the micro presentation round in the same session on the same day.

MP-PI round at IEC will begin on March 10, and will continue till March 15, 2014 for the first round.  For second round it will begin on May 12 and will continue till May 17, 2014.

Fee at IEC
Two years course fee as announced by IEC-MCRC for PGDM is Rs. 5.4 lacs and for PGDM(HPCM) is Rs. 4.6 lacs.  Fee for MMS is decided as per DTE Maharashtra guidelines.

Placement at IEC
IEC has a list of more than 200 recruiters to its credit. Companies like Mahindra and Mahindra, CRISIL, Barclays, Mahindra Finance, L&T Finance include the list.  Highest salary offered at IEC was Rs.8.5 lacs and average salary was 4.00 Lacs.
