One of the World’s foremost Management Educators, and much respected Guru on Globalization, Dr Pankaj Ghemawat will be addressing the 5th Indian Management Conclave (IMC) 2014. Dr Ghemawat joins a stellar lineup of International Deans & Thought-leaders who will be addressing the 5th IMC 2014, India’s biggest MBA education conference, to be held on August 8-9 in New Delhi.


Noted international speakers who will be addressing IMC 2014 include Dr Howard Thomas, Dean, LKCSB Business School, Singapore Management University (SMU); Dr Ricardo Lim, Dean, Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Manila, and Dr Robert Kennedy, Dean, Ivey Business School, Canada. Dr Ghemawat will deliver the IMC Keynote Address via video conferencing from the IESE Business School in Spain where he is the Professor of Global Strategy.


Dr Pankaj Ghemawat is the Anselmo Rubiralta Professor of Global Strategy at the IESE Business School in Spain. Between 1983 and 2008, he was on the faculty at the Harvard Business School where, in 1991, he became the youngest person in the school's history to be appointed a full professor. Dr Ghemawat was also the youngest "guru" included in the guide to the greatest management thinkers of all time published in 2008 by The Economist.


Dr Ghemawat's books include Commitment, Games Businesses Play, Strategy and the Business Landscape and Redefining Global Strategy. His new book, World 3.0, was published in May 2011 by Harvard Business Review Press. Pascal Lamy, Director General of the World Trade Organization, has described it as "offering recommendations that should inspire all global stakeholders in times of major global challenges."


Dr Ghemawat has also written more than 100 research articles and case studies, is one of the world's best-selling authors of teaching cases, and a fellow of the Academy of International Business and of the Strategic Management Society. Other recent honors include the McKinsey Award for the best article published in the Harvard Business Review and the Irwin Educator of the Year award from the Business Policy and Strategy division of the Academy of Management. Dr Ghemawat served on the taskforce appointed by the AACSB on the globalization of management education, and authored the report's recommendations about what to teach students about globalization, and how.

IMC Awards 2014 Finalist to be declared soon


Meanwhile, following a multistage process of evaluation by IMC Jury members, the Finalists for IMC Awards 2014 will be announced soon. The Finalists will be invited to showcase their initiative at IMC Conference on Aug 8-9. The winners will be awarded with IMC Award 2014 on August 9.


More than 50 B-schools IIMs, XLRI, SP Jain, IIFT, NMIMS, TAPMI, MICA, Symbiosis University and Great Lakes, participated in the IMC Award 2014 nomination process.


The IMC Award is being judged by three highly respected MBA educators -- Dr Bakul Dholakia, Former Director, IIM Ahmedabad; Dr Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University and Dr Rishikesha Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore.


Earlier, giving a major boost to IMC Awards platform, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recognized and endorsed the IMC Award 2014 . Expressing his support, Dr SS Mantha, Chairman, AICTE said, “IMC Award is a good initiative to research, document and highlight good work that our B-schools are doing. AICTE shall review these Best-practices.”
