This happens when as a student we dont align our goals with what exactly we love to do or what we really wish to do. We usually look for suggestion from friends, peers, society while totally ignoring your inner desires or choice of a career or course.
Your success does not depend on whether you are extra brilliant or you have scored 100 percentile in MBA Entrance exams. On the contrary, you success depends on the decisions you make and are these decisions your own or forced upon you by other factors.
This article presents before you two very average guy who decided to pursue MBA because thats what they wanted to do. They were clear with their vision of what to achieve and they are now on the right path to fulfil their dreams in future.

Why should one opt for an MBA? What are the merits of doing an MBA?
A lot of people, even experts from the industry, argue that the value creation in a company is driven by the people who are on the ground, who are doing the actual "day to day business activities" and that you do not require an MBA to do this. I am an MBA who joined the industry recently and I can bet my fortune that the industry needs a lot more quality MBAs than we have right now.
The conventional wisdom of not needing an MBA to drive the business at the ground level is not a complete fallacy but as the organization grows it becomes impossible for any single person or a team to comprehend the gamut of things that would affect the value creation in the company. This is where an MBA comes into picture, we at MBA are taught to analyze things with a structure, with a framework in mind. We are taught not limit the scope of our thinking while we are dealing with a problem/opportunity. The holistic understanding and the ability to appreciate all the functions of an organization and their effect on the value of the company is a rare skill that only an MBA possesses. One doesn't need an MBA to create value but one needs it to LEAD value creation.

I was an average student, one among the lot of engineering students our country was producing. Like most of them, I was confused about my career path too. From the many options that were available at my disposal, I chose MBA for the big numbers on the payslip it would bring. I registered for the PGDM (Finance) program at IMT-Hyderabad in the year of 2012 not knowing that it would change the entire course of my life. At IMT-Hyderabad, I was not just taught the nuances of business but what I also had was exposure; Exposure to things that inspired me to do more, to be more, that made me realize the true value and joy that education can provide. That's the learning that changed the way I look at everything. Today I work for Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, one of the best employers of the country, in a role that gives me the freedom to express my ideas.

Why MBA?
MBA is designed to train one to think like a business leader. MBA not only provides the business skill set that urges one to think in deep difficult business situations, in a strategic and leader like manner, but also challenges your soft skill set. MBA is a way to escape stagnation in the career. Its a ladder to reach the top management corporate positions, along with handsome packages, as MBA exposes one to develop certain specialized skills and leadership qualities making organizations prefer MBAs for top management positions and prominent profound leadership roles.
