With just around 90 days left for CAT 2014 exam, it's time for CAT aspirants to get ready for CAT 2014 Registration. Many of you will be giving CAT exam for the first time; hence you must avoid any errors or mistakes in CAT 2014 registration form.
Note that once your profile has been created and saved, you will no longer be able to use your voucher number to create another profile.

CAT 2014 exam will be once again conducted by IIM Indore with Dr. Rohit Kapoor as its Convener. Tata Consultancy Service (TCS) has been appointed the new test Taking Agency for CAT 2014 exam.

With just around 90 days left for CAT 2014 exam, it’s time for CAT aspirants to get ready for CAT 2014 Registration.

Many of you will be giving CAT exam for the first time, hence you must know all about CAT 2014 registration in order to avoid any errors or mistakes in CAT 2014 registration form.

Before we go ahead and describe you the CAT 2014 registration process, you must be aware of CAT 2014 eligibility criteria as it is a pre-requisite for appearing in CAT exam or selection in IIMs.

3 Important Steps for CAT 2014 Registration

Every CAT aspirant must follow the following three important steps to complete their CAT 2014 Registration process.

I. Check your eligibility for CAT 2014 exam.

II. Purchase your CAT 2014 voucher either from Offline mode or through online mode before the Online Registration Process.

III. Fill out the CAT 2014 Registration Form and have a valid email id and phone number.

 
I. CAT 2014 Eligibility Criteria

Every candidate must confirm at least one of the following CAT 2014 eligibility criteria in order to successfully appear for CAT 2014 exam.

1. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)]

2. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2/Post B.Sc./PostDiploma ) or B.E/B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE.

3. Any Qualification recognized by Association of Indian Universities New Delhi which is equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree awarded by UGC recognized University/Institutions.

The Voucher sale for CAT 2014 exam is expected to start from 1st week of August, 2014. Last year the Registration for CAT exam was extended to provide more opportunity for CAT aspirants.


Following is the expected dates for various activities related to CAT 2014 exam:

II. CAT 2014 Registrations Guideline

As per last year, CAT 2014 aspirants can purchase the CAT Registration Form through Offline mode or through Online Mode to register for CAT 2014 exam.

CAT 2014 registration through Offline Mode: Before registering and scheduling for your CAT 2014 exam, candidates need to purchase a CAT 2014 voucher from any of the selected Axis Bank branches. CAT 2014 aspirant needs to buy only one CAT 2014 Voucher irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying to. Also make sure that you must buy the Voucher only in your name as it appears in the 12th/Diploma/Degree certificate. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage etc., the candidate must show the relevant document at the time of purchase.

CAT 2014 Registration through Online Mode: Last year, IIM Indore introduced Online Voucher Sale for CAT exam which was a great success.

The link for the sale of Online Voucher will be present on the CAT 2014 official Website when the Registration window opens. Candidates can purchase Online Voucher by using any one of the options like Credit card (VISA and Master Cards), Diners Card, Debit Card or Net banking.

Candidate needs to fill up their Personal Details, Valid email id & phone number, provide attachments as proof of category (SC/ST/DA etc), Provide Card Details and verify the payment.

Candidate will receive an SMS quoting transaction ID and unique voucher number. These details will also be sent to his/her email id. This voucher number will be used for CAT 2014 Registration process on the CAT 2014 website.

CAT 2014 exam Registration Process

There are 3 important steps in CAT 2014 Registration form:

a. Create a profile.

b. Fill out the CAT application.

c. Schedule your test.

We start your CAT 2014 registration process, you need to visit the official CAT 2014 website and click on “Register for CAT 2014” link.

Steps to be taken for Successful CAT 2014 Registration:

Step 1: On the first screen of the registration website, you will see two boxes – “New users” and “Existing users.” The first time you come to this website, please follow the instructions for “New users.”

Step 2: For “New users,” you must enter your unique voucher number. Fill the correct ‘Captcha’ and click on “Begin my Registration “button.
Step 3: Create Your Profile:

In this section you need to fill out basic information like, name, valid email id, Create a login i.e. Username and Password, secret reminder question, contact number and postal address.

Remember: Before you proceed ahead make sure your name, email id is all correct as you won’t be able to change it after your move on to next step. Note that once your profile has been created and saved, you will no longer be able to use your voucher number to create another profile.  

Step 4: Next step will be to enter personal information like, Gender, Nationality, Category and Date of Birth.

Step 5:  You must now choose at least one of the IIM programmes from the list along with the city where you prefer to do your follow up interview with IIM.

Step 6: Now you need to fill up details about your educational qualifications. Educational choices include:

-  SSC or equivalent.

- HSC or equivalent.

- Bachelor’s degree.

- Master’s degree.

- Professional course (CA, ICWA etc.)

For each selection, you will be asked to enter additional information such as marks and boards. This is a very important section as, The CAT application data is treated as final and no change in it is permitted at a later stage. In case of detection of any variation in the data provided at any stage with the actual data your candidature may be nullified.

Step 7: You must enter your work experience in months and the sector or sectors in which you have worked. You should choose all that apply.

Step 8: Declaration by candidate. In this section, you will be required to choose “I Agree” or “I Disagree” to the declaration statement. This declaration affirms that you are eligible to take the CAT and all the information that you have entered is correct.

Click I agree to submit your form and move on to the next Step.

Step 9: Once your application has been successfully submitted, you can continue the online process to schedule an appointment to take the CAT 2014 exam.

Select Location for the CAT 2014 exam: Choose a State / Union Territory to see a list of the states and territories where the CAT will be given. Click on the state or territory where you would like to take the CAT. Next, you will see a list of the test site locations available. Click on “Schedule appointment” under the site of your choice.

Select date and time: Once you choose your site, you must now choose the date you want to take the CAT 2014 exam. You will only be able to select dates highlighted in blue.

If a date in the test window is not shown, it means that all available testing sessions at that site for that date have already been filled. Once you choose the date, you will need to choose the 10 a.m. session or the 3.15 p.m. session. If either of these two times does not appear, it means all available testing seats for that time have already been filled and you now have to choose another location.

Step 10: This is the final Confirmation page. If all information has been entered correctly, you will see a confirmation screen. You should read the confirmation screen to make sure all information is correct. Click on the “I am done (exit)” button to end your scheduling session. You will be sent an email Admit Card and Application Summary to the email address specified by you within 24 hours.

When you receive your Admit Card by email, you should read it carefully and verify all information is correct. You should then print a copy. You must bring the Admit Card with you on the day you take your test. You will not be allowed to test without the Admit Card.

Congratulations, you have now registered and successfully scheduled your CAT 2014 exam!
