Popularly known as Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur, the B school will be conducting Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2015 on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) on January 4, 2015, the first Sunday of New year of 2015. Approximately one lakh candidates are expected to take XAT 2015.

Apply before November 22, 2014
XAT 2015 opened the registration and application process on August 12, 2014 and will close it on November 22, 2014. Before proceeding to fill up the registration and application form, the need is to understand the process well.
Registration and application for XAT 2015
XAT 2015 has 2 parts to apply for the test. The first one is to register online for XAT 2015 and then proceed to fill up the application form for XAT 2015.
Registration form for XAT 2015
Registration for XAT 2015 is an online process. The home page at xatonline.net.in has an icon ‘register’ below the Heading “Xavier Aptitude Test”. You are supposed to click on it to proceed for registration for XAT 2015. Keep the necessary information related to your profile ready with you as the first page requires registration of your profile.
After completing the preliminary information in the first part of XAT 2015 registration form, you should enter a password of your choice and submit it. After submission of these details you will receive XAT ID on your registered email.
Procedure to complete the XAT 2015 Application form
After receiving the XAT ID and password, please login to XAT account and fill educational and other details and choose the test city. To get the preferred centre and city, it’s better to register early.
3 options to pay
XAT 2015 aspirants have three options to pay the XAT 2015 fee- on-line, in cash or through Demand draft. The fee for XAT 2015 is Rs. 1000.00 (Rupees One Thousand only) for all applicants, please note. There is no concessionary fee to apply for XAT 2015. Aspirants have to select one of the three modes of payment
Online Payment Gateway
XAT 2015 aspirants can pay online through VISA/Master Credit/Debit Cards. American Express Card is inadmissible. If you are an account holder of IDBI you can pay through IDBI Net banking.
Cash Payment
Applicant has to take a print out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip, visit nearest IDBI bank and make the payment thereat.
Demand Draft
Applicant has to get a DD made in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur.
Please note that Applicant paying through Mode 2 & 3 should update the payment details in the registration page. Failure to do so, such candidates will not be allowed to upload their photo and signature.
Digital photograph and signature in application form
Applicant is required to upload his/her scanned digital photograph and signature in XAT 2015 application form by adhering to following procedure
Adhere to prescribed file size and name
All XAT 2015 aspirants are required to upload their scanned (digital) photographs and signature. The file size of the photograph and signature must not be more than 50KB for each file. The Online application system will not allow uploading files larger than 50 KB size. The photographs and signatures are to be uploaded only in ‘Jpeg’ format. The preferred file names should be ‘photo.jpeg’ and ‘sign.jpeg’ for photograph and signature respectively
Colour photograph
Take your recent colour passport size photograph in digital format. The picture should be taken against a light/white background. In case the face on the photograph is not clear, your application is liable to be rejected.
Digital signature
XAT 2015 aspirant should sign ( No Capital letters) on a white paper with a black ink pen. Then you should scan the signature in 200 dpi (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings and the file size should be less than 50 kb in jpeg format.
In case the size is bigger, crop the image of the signature in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor to reduce the size. Please ensure that only the signature portion is cropped and not the entire A4 paper on which you have signed.
System generated confirmation is must
After uploading the photo and signature successfully in XAT 2015 application form, the aspirant will receive a system generated confirmation page consisting pre-printed photograph and signature of the applicant on the screen.
Be sure about the size of file
While following the procedure of completing the application form for XAT 2015, aspirants should follow the undernoted steps to ensure that the photograph and signature are within 50KB each.
- If you have a digital photograph or signature, open the same in MS Paint by right clicking the photograph
- Press Ctrl + W ,a window will open which will have an option 'resize by %'. Here enter anything between 10 to 50% and save the file with an extension .jpeg.
- Check for the size of the file in 'properties'. If the file size is still higher than 50 KB, once again open in paint and resize it to bring it down to less than 50KB.
- Repeat this process till the file size is less than 50 KB.
- Please save this file with the file Name as mentioned above as photo.jpeg and sign.jpeg
Print XAT confirmation page
This is very important to confirm that your registration and application form for XAT 2015 has been procedurally filled up. Please print XAT Confirmation page for your reference. In future for all correspondence with XAT office, quote your XAT ID.
Application form confirmation with DD to be submitted
If you choose to make payment through Demand Draft, you need to send the DD along with the XAT 2015 Application confirmation page within fifteen days from the issuance of DD to XAT office i.e. XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur- 831001
XAT 2015 aspirants who make the payments through Cash, IDBI internet banking or credit/ debit cards while filling up their XAT 2015 application form, are not required to send the Application Confirmation page to XAT Office.
Procedure for Registration and B school Application form
XAT 2015 aspirants have to apply for XAT 2015 first and then apply for institutions using XAT 2015 score for admission to their PGDM programmes.
XAT 2015 has appointed IDBI Bank as the partner bank for the registration process. Applicant for XAT 2015 can choose to make online payment using credit/debit card/online banking or through Demand Draft. Alternatively applicants can use any of the 900+ branches of IDBI Bank located all over the country to make payment for XAT 2015.
Important points to remember before obtaining B school Application form
- XLRI does not ascertain quality of the degree or programme(s) offered by other XAT Associate Institutions. So get maximum knowledge about the B school where you wish to apply after registration
- Each institution independently decides the weightages to be given for each of the test components on the basis of its needs. XLRI does not play any role in selection of the candidates in these institutes
- Details to apply can be obtained from the respective Institution's website or their Admissions office.
How important it is to apply for XAT 2015
MBA aspirants for 2015-17 batch cannot afford missing the XAT 2015 application form.
