Special addresses will be delivered by Dr Jagdish Sheth, Thought-leader & Co-author of The Business School in the Twenty-First Century, Mr. K. Ramkumar, Executive Director, ICICI Bank Limited & Dr Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University, Mumbai. The program will see many other thought-leaders from corporate India address the theme.
The Mumbai Round Table aims to extend the rich deliberations at the recently held 5th edition of India's biggest MBA education conference - Indian Management Conclave (IMC) 2014 on Aug 8-9 in New Delhi. Pioneer in innovations and Marico Chairman Mr Harsh C. Mariwala will deliver the keynote address in the conference. Mr Mariwala, a pioneer of innovations started Marico in 1990 with an idea of providing hair, skin and health care quality products. Mr Mariwala started the venture with a modest turnover of Rs.50 lacs which touched new heights in 2012-13 to the tune of Rs.4596 crores. Marico is the popular brand name in products and services in hair care, skin care, and healthy foods. Innovative practices by Mr Mariwala in Marico has led to change the market scenario. Now Marico is known for its quality and healthy products not only in India but the company under the leadership of Mr Mariwala has also established strong consumer franchises in its overseas markets in Asia and Africa. Marico has made its brand presence felt in over 25 countries across the world. To encourage Innovative practices Mr Mariwala established the Marico Innovation Foundation in 2003. Mr Mariwala was President of federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in 2011.
Dr Jagdish Sheth, the thought leader and co-author of ‘The Business School in the Twenty-First century’ will deliver the special address in the conference. Prof Sheth is the Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing at Emory University Goizueta Business School. Prof Sheth sits on the Board of Directors of several public companies including Norstan, Cryo Cell International, Wipro Limited. Prof Seth was selected as the Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of marketing Science.
Dr Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor NMIMS University, Mumbai will deliver special address at the conference. Dr Rajan is the former Director of IIM Indore and SPJIMR, Mumbai. He has over 40 years of academic and professional experience to his credit in Management education, Research, consulting and institution building. Dr Rajan Saxena has taught at XLRI Jamshedpur, SPJIMR Mumbai, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore and NMIMS. Dr Saxena is widely respected in the country as a marketing educator and consultant.
Mr. K. Ramkumar, Executive Director on the Board of ICICI Bank and the President of ICICI Foundation will deliver special address at the Mumbai Round Table. Leadership Development, Succession Management, building a supply chain for the Bank’s human resources requirements, leveraging technology to innovate, and driving operational excellence for world class service quality, are Mr Ramkumar’s passion.
Mr. Ramkumar, a PGDM in Personnel Management from Madras School of Social Work, joined the Board of Directors with effect from February 1, 2009. Prior to joining ICICI Bank in 2001, Mr. Ramkumar has served companies such as Hindustan Aeronautics, Brookebond Lipton India Limited (now Hindustan Unilever Limited) and ICI India Ltd. His work in these companies has mainly been in the areas of Human Resources Management and Manufacturing.
He conceived and nurtured Institute for Finance, Banking & Insurance and ICICI Manipal Academy for Banking & Insurance. The partnership Initiatives with SEBI – National Institute for securities management and with NIIT - the NIIT University, were also nurtured by him. He led the CSR project of ICICI Foundation on skilling youth and promoting livelihood.
