All eligible candidates, irrespective of their scores in the CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA exams will be invited to appear in MICAT

MICA has invited applications for its Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Communications (PGDM-C) 2015-17. The PGDM-C is the flagship programme of MICA, Ahmedabad. The two-year, full-time, residential programme is AICTE approved and is deemed equivalent to an MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

How to Apply

 

Candidates need to register online by visiting the MICA site www.mica.ac.in.  Post the candidate’s successful online registration, an email containing a MICA ID and MICA password will be shared. This MICA ID is useful for all future correspondence with MICA and to make any modifications to the online application form.

Scores accepted for admission at MICA

 

Candidates having valid scores in any one of the following tests will be eligible to take the MICA Admission Test (MICAT) . CAT 2014; XAT 2014; XAT 2015; MAT 2014 (Feb/May/ Sept/Dec); CMAT 2014 (Feb / Sept); ATMA 2014 (Feb/May/July) and GMAT (2011 onwards)

 

Selection Procedure

 

All eligible candidates, irrespective of their scores in the CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA exams will be invited to appear in MICAT, subject to their application form being complete and accepted by MICA. MICAT is designed to assess analytical ability, verbal ability, logical reasoning, divergent thinking, written communication skills and general awareness about the communications industry.

 

MICAT

 

MICAT will be held in February/March 2015 across following centres:

 

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.

 

Based on performance in MICAT, shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Exercise and Personal Interview at the MICA campus, Ahmedabad.

 

Eligibility

 

Candidates seeking admission in MICA should possess three years' bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.

 

Curriculam

 

The curriculum of the PGDM-C involves exposure to contemporary information, skills and knowledge in the Strategic Marketing and Communication domains. MICA students are equipped to manage business communication processes holistically. This includes the commissioning of research, seeking consumer insights, formulating strategies, evaluating media options, analysing sales and distribution channels. MICAns thereby emerge as effective professionals who aid building brand equity creatively, by sowing ideas and harvesting pragmatic solutions.

 

Programme Fee

 

2 years fee for the PGDM C at MICA is Rs.13.50 lakhs

CAT 2014 Registration closes on Sep 30, 2014

 

The last date for CAT 2014 registration is September 30, 2014. Around 2 lakhs aspirants are expected to register for CAT 2014. High percentile in CAT 2014 will not only provide an opportunity to get admission in 19 IIMs but also in highly ranked private B schools like MDI Gurgaon, SPJIMR, Mumbai, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI Manipal, BIMTECH Greater Noida and many more.

 

CAT 2014 Exam: significant changes

 

CAT 2014 will be a computer based test. There will be 2 sections with 50 questions each. The time limit to solve the 100 questions on Quant, DI, Verbal and LR shall be 170 minutes. CAT 2014 aspirants will have the freedom to move from section to other within overall time frame. The result for CAT 2014 test are expected to be announced in the 3rd week of December 2014.

 

XAT 2015; Registration to close on Nov 22, 2014; test on Jan 4, 2015

 

XAT 2015 to be conducted by XLRI on behalf of XAMI is proposed to be conducted on January 4, 2015, the first Sunday of New year of 2015. XLRI has been conducting Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) for the last 60 years at All India level in paper pencil mode. XAT scores will be used by 120 B schools apart from XLRI as the criteria for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes for 2015-17 batch.
