The AMBA accredited Great Lakes Institute of Management is celebrating the completion of its ten years of existence

Set up in 2004, the AMBA accredited Great Lakes Institute of Management is celebrating the completion of its ten years of existence. To mark the occasion, Great Lakes recently organized an event in New Delhi, where some of the industry big-wigs like Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint MD Hero Motorcorp Ltd, and Mr Shri D Shivakumar, Chairman and CEO, Pepsi Co India were present and congratulated Great Lakes management.

 

Mr Sunil Kant Munjal and Mr D Shivakumar released the book "Global Mindset Indian Roots - Thought Leadership and beyond" in the presence of Prof Bala V Balachandran, Founder, Dean and Chairman, Great Lakes Institute of Management and other dignitaries. The book is a collection of select speeches on leadership delivered by global business leaders and thought leaders during their visits to Great Lakes.

 

Great Lakes Institute of Management opened its doors in 2004 in Chennai and then moved to the LEED platinum-rated green campus near Mahabalipuram in 2009. In 2014, Great Lakes received the prestigious AMBA (Association of MBAs), UK accreditation for its flagship programs. With this accreditation, Great Lakes has become the youngest business school in India to receive a top international accreditation.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Bala V Balachandran, Dean and Founder of Great Lakes said, “Our innovative and world class management offerings have put Great Lakes Institute of Management on the global B School map. The going has been good so far… and we assure that for the next decade and many more decades to come we will continue to perform at a global standard. Our one and only objective is to educate extraordinary leaders who can positively reshape business and society while constantly revolutionizing.”

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mohan Lakhamraju, Vice- Chairman, Great Lakes Institute of Management said, “Great Lakes is the youngest among the top rated b-schools in India and it is very humbling to be a part of its inspiring journey. Mr. Munjal, Joint MD Hero Motorcorp Ltd , said “ India is a nation of rich history and has been a master of some great inventions. Even today we have many global Indian CEOs for many investment banks, fmcg companies and information technology firms. It is our responsibility to the carry the legacy forward for the further development of our nation. Indian students have great potential and if trained well they would surely have a long way to go. We should have more B-schools like Great Lakes Institute of Management, which is doing a tremendous job in nurturing the talent and providing them with the ample opportunities to grow in life.”

 

Great Lakes Institute of Management, established in 2004 by Dr. Bala V. Balachandran, has emerged as one of the leading B-school in India within a short span of 10 years. In 2014, Great Lakes was accredited by Association of MBAs (AMBA, UK) for its PGPM and PGXPM programs. Great Lakes has 40+ full time faculty and 130+ visiting faculty including over 20 international faculty. It also has collaborations with world's leading institutions like Yale University, Nanyang Technological University, University of Houston, University of Bordeaux, etc. Great Lakes has a 27.5 acres LEED Platinum rated green campus in Chennai and a second campus in Delhi-NCR.
