Faculty of Management Studies(FMS), Delhi University, Delhi one of the leading B Schools in Delhi NCR, a highly ranked B school in the country and the high ROI B school is going to open the admission process 2015-16 for its two years full time MBA programme 2015-17 and Ph.D programmes shortly.
FMS Delhi has brought for the information of all the MBA aspirants seeking admission to MBA 2015-17 batch at FMS Delhi that the admission at this B school will be based on CAT 2014 scores. According to FMS Delhi “It is for the information of all the candidates who are interested in seeking admission in the MBA (Full time) and Ph.D. (through CAT route) programmes in the faculty of Management studies that they may register themselves for CAT 2014 which is open up to September 30, 2014 and is being conducted this year by IIM Indore.”
Sharing the information Dr M L Singla, Dean FMS Delhi says “For admissions of 2015-16, we have decided to continue with CAT. Subsequently, we will be reviewing the situation and a decision would be taken in consultation with all stakeholders in this regard.”
Admission Notification to be out any day now
FMS clarifies further that ‘FMS Advertisement for the aforesaid programmes is likely to be issued sometime by the end of September 2014 in the newspapers and on FMS & University of Delhi website’.
FMS Admission process expected to open in October/November 2014
Online Admission Application process at FMS Delhi is expected to open sometime in October or early November 2014 and would continue for approximately a month.
Since FMS will use CAT 2014 scores for short listing the candidates for its MBA 2015-17 programme, no separate test will be conducted by the University of Delhi for admission to its programmes. Besides IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme at FMS Delhi.
Intake at FMS Delhi
The institute has 216 seats for its 2 year MBA programme and 15 seats for PhD programme. The aspirants can apply only through online process.
Admission eligibility and Application fee
Only the test score of CAT 2014 will be accepted for the registration in FMS Delhi. The candidates applying for admission to the Two Year Full-Time MBA must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent to CGPA, as per CAT 2014 requirement. Candidates appearing for the final year examination of Bachelor's Degree examination may also apply. Applicants who do not register and take CAT 2014 will not be considered for admission.
Applicants will be able to register themselves for admission to M.B.A. (Full-Time) and Ph.D. programmes through FMS website www.fms.edu by filling up online registration forms. The expected application fee for admission session 2015-16 is Rs.1000/- for each programme.
FMS: Unique shortlisting criteria
Unlike IIMs and other top B schools, FMS shortlisting cut off criteria for final admission round although goes as high as 98+ CAT percentile for General category candidates, the B school considers overall CAT percentile, a reprieve for those who do not get high balanced sectional percentile in CAT 2014 despite having high overall percentile.
Academic profile, Work experience and other factors are taken into account at the time of final admission round and not at the time of short listing. Admission to M.B.A. (Full-Time) programme will be based on Personal Interview, Group Discussion and CAT-2014 score.
