CAT 2014 aspirants: I have completed the registration and application process but couldn’t make the payment of registration fee. Will it be safe to make the payment now or my money will be lost in technical glitches?
MBAUni: If you have saved and continued the each page of registration and application for CAT 2014, you can view the details once the site opens. It is expected that the site will remain free from technical glitches at least on Sep 29, 2014 once it opens. It is therefore safe to make payment on Sep 29, 2014 as again on Sep 30, 2014 more rush is expected for CAT 2014 registration.
CAT 2014 aspirants: I completed the registration, filled up my academic details, choice of programmes, work experience but couldn’t upload the photograph and signature. Would I be able to upload the same?
MBAUni: Yes, you would. Although lot of panic is created among the CAT 2014 aspirants due to the sudden suspension of CAT 2014 registration process and many doubts raised their heads. Since the registration site was suspended for maintenance, it is expected that most of the anticipated technical glitches would be removed and aspirants would be able to com[plete their registration process.
To upload the signature and photograph, aspirants should complete the process when the CAT 2014 registration site reopens. You are supposed to upload your recent passport size photograph not larger than 80KB. Please also note that only JPEG, JPG formats can be uploaded. The photograph should have dimension of 35mm X 45mm.
If your photo size is larger than the prescribed size, please get it reduced to the required size. In case there is any issue in uploading the digital photograph, please check whether all above has been complied with.
The scanned image of your signature should be with the dimensions of 1000mm X 35 mm. Again the documents file format should be .jpg or .jpeg and the file size should not be more than 80KB.
The best way is to put your signature on a plain white piece of paper in black ink. Scan the signature part only and get to the required size and then upload. It shouldn’t be a difficulty.
CAT 2014 aspirants: If I make any mistake in CAT 2014 registration, how can I rectify it when the site re-opens?
MBAUni: You should avoid making any mistakes at the eleventh hour of CAT 2014 registration process. The site has suspended its operation although temporarily, so be on your guard. You will have to re-register if you make mistakes and do not realize and amend them before making payment and clicking on submit button.
If you make mistake(s) in entering Percentage of marks/Category/Gender /Work Experience or other details which will affect selection process CAT 2014 suggests “you are advised to re-register with a new email ID. Your CAT 2014 application will be considered for the latest registration and Admit Card issued for the same.”
Please note according to CAT 2014 norms ‘No refund of registration fee will be made by CAT 2014 for your earlier registration. Failure to re-register in such circumstances may lead to nullification of your candidature.’
Be calm; no need to panic
CAT 2014 aspirants are therefore advised not to panic as the suspension is temporary and is expected to be restored at the suggested hour on Sep 29, 2014. However it is not advisable to wait for Sep 30, 2014, the last date of registration. It will be better to finalize the registration process for CAT 2014 on September 29, 2014 itself.
