CAT 2014 registration process which was suspended from the evening on Sep 28 resumed functioning smoothly at 11 AM on Sep 29, 2014 and all the panic and apprehension among the aspirants stood nowhere. IIMs have not announced any extension in registration date and so far the last date of CAT registration remains September 30, 2014.
CAT 2014 aspirants, who have not registered so far for CAT 2014, have only one day for registration and in case any technical problem comes up again, it will be difficult to register.
Registration for CAT 2014 was opened on August 6, 2014 and will come to end at 11.59 PM on September 30, 2014. It will be 56 days by the evening on Sep 30, 2014 since the CAT 2014 registration remained open since it started. Any further wait for the date extension or anything else will not do any good and the aspirants who wish to appear in CAT 2014 should register as soon as possible.
Keep the details ready
CAT 2014 aspirants should keep all the details related to their personal and academic profile ready to avoid any delay in the registration process.
Convert the grade to percentage
If you were awarded grades only and not the marks in percentage form during your academics, please convert the same as per CAT 2014 registration guidelines before filling them up in CAT 2014 application.
Enter the work experience in months
The work experience is to be entered in completed months until 31st July 2014. Before entering these details please calculate and keep the same ready.
Complete the mandatory information
You will not be allowed to continue, if mandatory information is not filled or the required Certificates, scanned images of photographs, signature are not uploaded. So keep them ready digitally as per the required size and format to upload the same.
Remember your password
Although IIM will send you new password on your mail, if you forget the existing one, it may take some time and the advice is not to forget it to save time on your registration process. Still in case you forget your password, please click on the Forgot Password button on the Existing User login window. You will receive the new password on your mail id, and not as an SMS.
Read and review before making payment
Once you have completed the last section, i.e. Payment, your application to CAT 2014 is considered complete and you will receive a confirmation mail. After this, changes to any information on the application form are not possible.
It is therefore advised to read all the pages of registration and application after entering the saving the details to make sure that all the entries are correctly filled up.
No time to complete in steps
Although CAT 2014 registration site allows but there is no time is left now to complete the registration process in steps. Now you are supposed to complete it in one go to avoid any unanticipated technical problem. Better is to go on checking while entering the data in CAT 2014 registration and application form.
No time to make mistakes in CAT 2014 registration
Avoid making any mistakes at the eleventh hour of CAT 2014 registration process. You will have to re-register if you make mistakes and do not realize and amend them before making payment and clicking on submit button.
If you make mistake(s) in entering Percentage of marks/Category/Gender /Work Experience or other details which will affect selection process CAT 2014 suggests “you are advised to re-register with a new email ID. Your CAT 2014 application will be considered for the latest registration and Admit Card issued for the same.”
Please note according to CAT 2014 norms ‘No refund of registration fee will be made by CAT 2014 for your earlier registration. Failure to re-register in such circumstances may lead to nullification of your candidature.’
Keep the CAT 2014 registration site accessible
Make sure that CAT 2014 registration website is accessible all the time. In the last minute rush it is very much possible that the website may not work or you are not able to complete the registration and application process. In such cases you are advised to close the internet browser and try it again.
The Registration/ Application form is best viewed in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. However, CAT 2014 recommends following version of Internet browser - Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9; Mozilla Firefox 14 to 28; Google Chrome 20 to 33.
