After holding five successful editions of India`s biggest MBA conference - Indian Management Conclave, MBAUniverse.com has launched its Pan-Asia management education platform.

The first annual MBAUniverse.com Asian Management Conclave (AMC) will be held in Singapore on March 12-13, 2015, and will be hosted by Singapore Management University (SMU). AMC was launched in Shanghai on October 9 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Launching Asian Management Conclave (AMC) during the IBSSC Conference, which was organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Antai College of Economics & Management, AMC convenor Amit Agnihotri outlined the need for such a forum. Leading Deans and Directors from China, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and many other countries endorsed the idea.

At the launch, participating in a panel discussion on Asian Management Education, Deans from leading B-schools from China, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand said that as Asia is set to take a prominent role in the global economy, Asian B-schools need to come together and work towards globalization of Asian management education.  

Speakers who participated in the panel discussion included Prof. Hellmut Schutte, Dean and Vice-President, China Europe International Business School, China; Prof. Young-Ryeol Park, Dean, Yonsei University School of Business, Korea; Prof. LI Kouqing, President of Shanghai National Accounting Institute, P. R. China; Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director, Birla Institute of Management Technology, India; Dr Arfah Salleh, President of UPM Putra Business School, Malaysia; Prof. XU Xinzhong, Dean of Lingnan College (University), San Yen-San University, P. R. China; Prof. Donyaprueth Krairit, Dean of School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; and Prof. Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, President, Almaty Management University, Kazakhstan.

The session was chaired by Amit Agnihotri, Founder, MBAUniverse.com & Convener, Asian Management Conclave.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Hellmut Schutte, Dean and Vice-President, China Europe International Business School, P. R. China, said,  "While western theories and framework can have universal appeal, the execution needs to be adapted. Also, countries like China, Japan, Korea, India need to contribute to next phase of growth of global management education."  

Prof. Young-Ryeol Park, Dean, Yonsei University School of Business, Korea said, "By 2025 the Global Asian Era will commence, where China, India, ASEAN, and Korea will contribute to global economy in a big way. There isn't enough teaching materials and methods available on Asian management. More effort is necessary to meet increasing demand for Asian management education. But, rigorous research on Asian management is necessary . Without research output, it is impossible to develop a strong Asian Management education system. Hence we must first research Asian management, then develop Asian management education system."

Dr Arfah Salleh, President of Putra Business School, Malaysia said, "Asia-Pacific Brand of Business & Management Education should be focused on co-existence of western and indigenous solutions. "

Other speakers also highlighted the importance of developing Asian management education by undertaking joint research, curriculum and pedagogy.

Talking about the vision for Asian Management Conclave, it's convenor Amit Agnihotri said, "While we are laggards today, how can Asian Management Education leapfrog, and be the centre of Next-practices in Global Management Education. Asian Management Conclave will work towards helping progressive Asian B-schools excel locally and compete globally."

The theme for 1st Asian Management Conclave 2015 Singapore is 'Asian Management Education: Strategies to Leapfrog'. More than 100 Deans from leading B-schools in China, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and many other countries will be participating in this annual forum. Harvard Business Publishing and many other global organizations are supporting the platform.
