Since NMAT is computer based objective type MCQ exam with 120 questions with an overall time limit of 2 hours the most important part is time management in the exam.

How to approach the test

NMAT has sectional as well as overall cut offs. The necessity is to perform well relative to other candidates in each of the three sections to get shortlisted for final admission round. To achieve this goal, according to Prof S K Agarwal, expert on NMAT preparation the candidates have to focus on a few tips apart from proceeding coherently on their preparation path to ace the test.

Variety of questions

NMAT is the computer-delivered test.  The exam is randomly generated from a pool of questions. Candidates can get twisted questions, easy questions and difficult questions accordingly. You have to be well prepared to approach different type of questions with varying difficulty level

Choose the section

You have the choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections, each section has an individual time limit. You should answer the questions and review the section within the allotted time.  The number of questions and time limit of the section wise test is predetermined. So be careful you can’t avail more than allotted time.

Be prompt to decide

One question is displayed on the computer at a time. Unless you take action on the first question, the next question will be displayed on your screen.  It means that you cannot view all the questions at a time as you can view in CAT. You have to be quick in taking the decision on the particular question and move forward as you never know how moderate or difficult is the next question.

Notice the Warning signal

The warning signal before 5 minutes of sectional time limit is flashed once and you will have to keep the track to answer all the questions in the section within prescribed time limit.

NMAT in last 2 days

A few of them got them correct also in the process. A high score to stand in merit is needed in NMAT. There were a few questions in each of the 3 sections that were a bit surprising for those who didn’t prepare well.
