Tough quant and language skills sections greeted the aspirants on October 15, 2014 in NMAT-2015. Although the test was not much different from the other days questions had twisted forms and were more time consuming. The computer-delivered test in which each candidate got a randomly generated exam from a pool of questions on October 15, 2014 had many twisted questions.

The choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections was also of not much help for the candidates. Each section in NMAT has individual time limit and candidates need to complete answering the questions and reviewing the section within the allotted section time.  Due to a lengthy and time consuming questions candidates found it difficult to solve the test as per their expectations. On the top of it computer displays questions one at a time. Only after a candidate takes an action on the first question, will the computer display the next question.

The test was reported more difficult

Out of 120 multiple-choice questions many questions were tricky and more time consuming. Candidates however adopted to guess work as there is no negative marking. Candidates therefore preferred to attempt all the questions. At some of the centres questions were taking time to get loaded on the screen which caused anxiety among the NMAT 2015 test takers.

Language Skills

There were four RC passages which were lengthy and most of the candidates were not even able to complete reading them in time. Every passage was followed by 4 questions. Out of 32 questions 16 questions were based on RC passages. Grammar questions were doable and were based on use of fundamentals. Vocabulary questions were a bit difficult.

Grammar questions in English language were based on topics like Parts of speech, tenses, Synonyms- antonyms, fill in the blanks. Jumbled paragraphs were of moderate order. There were 32 questions in this section which had to be solved in 22 minutes.

Logical Reasoning

Questions on Logical Reasoning today were based on family tree, assumptions, series, statements. The section was doable and most of the candidates found it within their reach. The questions were a mix of Verbal and Critical Reasoning. 40 questions in this section were supposed to be completed in 38 minutes.

Quantitative Skills

Questions on Quantitative skills were a bit more difficult. Questions based on time, speed, distance were also reported tough. Arithmetic, modern math, trigonometry, geometry occupied the maximum space in this section. Data interpretation questions were more time consuming, graphs, tables were long and had to be understood well before proceeding to answer the set of questions. Questions on Quantitative skills in NMAT today had to be carefully attempted by properly scrolling the bar in desired direction. Major topics in this section were on Algebra, Numbers, PnC, Geometry and modern math. This section had 48 questions and had to be solved in 60 minutes.
