IIML broke its own placement record and registered 100 per cent summer placements in a time of 4.5 days only

The competitive environment among the B-schools of being ‘The Best’ strives them to attract more recruiters every year and make themselves possible to be in the sight of the aspirants and corporate sector. This has been noticed in the Summer Placements 2014-16 of the prestigious IIM-Lucknow where the whole gets of Internship placements ended in just 4.5 days.

Record Summer Placements

Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML) broke its own placement record and registered 100 per cent summer placements in a time of 4.5 days only. The institute had created history last year by placing the entire batch in 5.5 days during summer Placements and 5 days during Final Placements", an IIM release issued here said.

Participation of Domestic and International Companies

The summer recruitment drive of Premier Management Institute of India saw the participation of 164 domestic and international recruiters. A total of 464 students had participated in the recruitment drive.

The highlight of the placement season was participation of firms like JP Morgan, Alvarez and Marsal, an international mutual fund company and 4 Indian private equity players.

Roles offered in the Drive

The top four segments based on roles offered were sales and marketing, finance, consulting and business development, including some extremely sought after and niche profiles in the finance domain.

The rest of the offers came from domains such as operations/supply chain, general management, systems/IT, market research, analytics and HR.

Sectoral Placements

FMCG/Consumer Goods - Coke, Colgate Palmolive, Dabur, GSK Consumer, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Kellogg's, Mondelez, Marico, Mars, P&G, Pepsi, Reckitt Benckiser.  P&G, which was the top recruiter in this segment, opened the highest number of profiles this year

Telecom Industry - The telecom giants Airtel and Vodafone participated and made offers in the recruitment drive. Paints Industry leader in India Asian Paints has shown its presence in the drive.

Consulting Domain - Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal, AT Kearney The Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte and McKinsey made a total of 37 offers with McKinsey and BCG being the top two recruiters.

Pharmaceuticals / Healthcare Industry- Firms such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Boehringer Ingelheim, Cipla, GSK Pharma, J&J Pharma and Novartis recruiting in large numbers across functions. The roles were primarily in sales and marketing, finance, operations, market research and general management. One of these firms also opened its prestigious internship for leadership roles in Asia-Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa or Latin America.

Banking Financial Services and Institution (BFSI) - BFSI saw the participation of JP Morgan this year which hired IIML students for its 'Front-End Markets' profile.

IT/E-commerce/Technology- The companies participated were Amazon, Capgemini, Cognizant, eBay, Flipkart, HCL, Taxiforsure.com and Wipro. These firms opened not only IT/systems profiles but also roles such as sales enablement, business development, supply chain management, product marketing, strategic alliances, program manager and analytics.

This year IIM-L attracted the social impact and education sector with a total of 14 firms, offering roles in sales and marketing, market research, business development, finance, IT, policy research and project implementation. It is one of the niche additions to the portfolio of the IIM-L.

The institute also secured the highest number of international offers from diverse sectors such as Retail, FMCG and real estate.

IIM-Lucknow

IIM-L was established in 1984 as the fourth Indian Institute of Management (IIM) by the Government of India after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore. It is recognized as an "Institution of Excellence" by the India's Ministry of Human Resource Development. IIM-L has a 100 per cent track record of placements.
