Candidates may seek good admission opportunities in the B schools where admissions have been opened for the PGDM batch 2015-17 on the basis of their CMAT scores
If the merit position in CMAT is good enough you should apply to selected few B schools else you might have to apply to more number of B schools to explore more admission opportunities.

With the results of first CMAT 2015 conducted by AICTE wef Sep 25 to 29, 2014 for the admission session 2015-16 expected to be declared on October 30, 2014, candidates may seek good admission opportunities in the B schools where admissions have been opened for the PGDM batch 2015-17 on the basis of their CMAT scores. Please remember your sectional scores will also a play an important role in getting shortlisted for final admission round at top rated B schools.

Download and print your score card

The score card after declaration of CMAT Sep 2014 exam result will be available from October 30 to November 30, 2014. Since thousands will be waiting to throng the AICTE site, it is suggested to download and take print of your score card and check your overall as well as sectional scores.

Another important point to remember is to find out your position in order of merit. According to Prof S K Agarwal mentor and expert on CMAT preparation, If the merit position in CMAT  is good enough you should apply to selected few B schools else you might have to apply to more number of B schools to explore more admission opportunities.

Please remember CMAT doesn’t award you percentile, the scores are awarded in raw form. When you apply to the preferred B schools and send your raw scores to them, they convert the same according to their shortlisting criteria.

Apply immediately after CMAT results

It is advisable to apply to the preferred  B schools now and in case you are able to score better in CAT/XAT or second CMAT 2015, you may send in your improved scores to these B schools as the application process might be closed by the time the results of all the above tests are declared.

Fate of 50 thousand candidates will be decided with the declaration of CMAT results on October 30, 2014. This will also shift the focus for a while from preparation for forthcoming MBA/PGDM entrance exams like CAT/IIFT/XAT to exploring the admission opportunities in such highly ranked B schools who accept CMAT scores.

It is a good opportunity that most of the good B schools are open with their admission application process. Most of the B schools accepting CMAT scores close their application process by the time results of second CMAT are declared.  Any improvement in scores can be sent to these B schools separately.

Good B schools awaiting CMAT scores

Good B schools are expected to shortlist the candidates on the basis of CMAT scores. While a few B schools might shortlist the candidates at very high scores others may not ask for such high percentage of marks in CMAT.

There are state level management entrance tests in almost all the states. While some of the state universities and private B schools affiliated to these state universities prefer the said state level exams and have fixed the intake of MBA aspirants on the basis of CMAT, a few state universities would consider admission on the basis of the CMAT score.

Going by the past trends of CMAT cut offs in Good B schools, Management aspirants stand a good chance in following B schools as per the expected range of marks in shortlisting criteria
