All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the schedule for Second National Level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2015 to select suitable students for admission in management programmes for academic year 2015-16. The on-line Registration process for second CMAT 2015 has opened on November 6, 2014 and will continue till January 5, 2015, just a day after XAT 2015 is over on January 4, 2015. The CMAT 2015 second test will be conducted from Feb 19 to Feb 22, 2015, AICTE, like earlier CMAT exams, has provided the candidates two opportunities to appear in CMAT for admission session commencing 2015. The first CMAT was conducted in September, 2014 from Sep 25 to 28, 2014 while the registration for the Second CMAT 2015 has opened on November 6, 2014. The better of two scores in both the CMAT exams will be taken into account for admission for PGDM/MBA batch 2015-17.

CMAT is one of the largest management entrance tests after CAT and XAT. Around 1 lakh candidates are expected to register for CMAT February 2015. Apart from B schools that are going to accept CAT/XAT scores, there are other leading B schools who accept CMAT scores. Good marks in CMAT Feb 2015 exam will offer participants ample scope to get admitted into some of the highly ranked university and private B schools in the country.

Registration opens for Second CMAT 2015

AICTE has opened the online registration window for second CMAT Feb 2015 on Nov 6, 2014. The registration window will remain open till Monday, January 5, 2015. All the candidates who are graduates or are in the final year of graduation in any discipline are eligible to apply for Second CMAT Feb 2015. The only condition is that their results should be declared prior to commencement of admission 2015.

Number of candidates preparing for XAT 2015 and wish to appear in second CMAT 2015 will have one day after their XAT 2015 exam to complete their registration process for second CMAT 2015.

Registration and test fee for CMAT 2015 second test

Registration for CMAT 2015 second test is an online process. Test fee is included in the registration and application fee. For General/OBC Category candidates the registration and test fee is Rs. 1400/- and for SC/ST/PD candidates the test fee is Rs.700/-. This fee is excluding the bank charges, if any.

A candidate can pay the fee on-line through Net banking/Credit/Debit card or can pay cash through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of  India.  Please remember Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
 

Exam dates for second CMAT 2015

AICTE has announced a 4 day testing window for CMAT 2015-16 second test. The computer based test will be held in 62 cities all across India from February 19 to 22, 2015. There will be 2 test sessions of 3 hours each on every day; the first one will be from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM and the second one will be from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM.

CMAT aspirants will have the opportunity to be allotted the session slot on desired date subject to availability.  The best course is to apply as early as possible.

Early birds to get most preferred exam date and city

AICTE has provided flexibility to choose the preferred test dates and test cities for second CMAT 2015. A candidate can choose 3 dates and 3 cities of India for online CMAT examination in the order of preference while registering for CMAT 2015 second test.  Allotment will however, be based on first come first served and subject to availability of the slots in a particular city.

The suggestion is to register at the earliest to get the most preferred date and city.

Issue of Admit cards

Admit cards (Hall tickets) can be generated on-line on or after January 30, 2015. There will not be any individual dispatch of Admit card in hard copy to the candidates.  In case of any difficulty candidates can contact AICTE office over phone or on their email id - c[email protected]

Declaration of results

Results for CMAT 2015 second test are expected to be declared on March 25, 2015. AICTE has been very punctual in declaration of CMAT results. The results of first CMAT held in Sep 2014 were also declared in the morning of October 30, 2014, the pre declared date.

CMAT results do not disqualify any candidate. According to AICTE, CMAT results have been designed to rank all the candidates who appear in the test based on their aptitude towards the management education in the order of their merit.

Score cards for CMAT 2015 second test

The CMAT 2015 second test exam score cards can be viewed, downloaded and taken print outs from March 25, 2015 to April 25, 2015. The scores will be valid for the admissions to academic year 2015-16. The score are in core awarded marks form as well as in the percentile form in order of merit.

B schools accepting CMAT scores

Government and Private Universities, highly ranked B schools in thirteen states have been accepting CMAT scores as the only gateway to MBA admissions under the government quota, instead of the State-administered Post graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET). The states which are likely to accept CMAT 2015 second test scores are: Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Admission process after CMAT results

AICTE has clarified that it will provide the detailed merit list to the respective State Governments for allotting the students through central counseling or otherwise as per their notified admission procedure for MBA and as per Court directives for PGDM. In case there is no central counseling, scores awarded will be used for admission in the AICTE approved Institutes/University Departments.   

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the government appointed regulator for technical education in India started conducting–Combined Management Admission Test or CMAT in 2012.  AICTE recommends all institutes offering MBA and PGDM courses to use CMAT for their admissions. However, number of B schools appearing on the list of AICTE approved Institutions accepting CMAT scores, no more accept CMAT scores. The candidates are advised to go through the admission process of respective B schools where they wish to apply on the basis of CMAT 2015 second test scores.

The objective of CMAT is not to eliminate the candidates from the process of seeking admission in the AICTE approved management programmes, rather to facilitate the institutions to select the suitable candidates as per their merit.
