IFIM’s placement strategy of holding a pre-placement week was lapped up by the corporates, 30% of the entire batch has been placed before the placement season. The B School established the Centre for Continuous Employability (CCE) to engage the corporate sector in its academic delivery process and to sense the requirements of the corporate on a continuous basis for improvising the curriculum and training being imparted to its students. The intense engagement between faculty of IFIM and the corporate partners led to the emergence of a thought, which crystallized in the form of a “Power Week”.

The “Power Week” was an opportunity for the corporate to engage the students of IFIM Business School much ahead of the traditional placement season and identify talent which was ready to take on placement interviews. For IFIM Students, this week offered a challenge to test their abilities before they enter the placement season. For the faculty of IFIM this was a great learning intervention to level the expectations of the aspiring students and give them a first hand experience in facing interviews.

14 corporates such as Deloitte, Dell, JustEat.in, Copal Amba, Minacs, and Crisil participated in this week and 40 students got placed with these entities. This was the first campus visit for all the participating companies and the average salary on offer was Rs 6.00 lacs.

This has boosted the confidence at IFIM Business School and the students are very excited and confident to face the scheduled placement week in the 2nd week of November. The corporate mood seems to be upbeat and with the soaring confidence of the faculty and student, it seems apparent that the placement season will last only a few days.

Students have also been getting offers for the four and half months Industry Internship Program (IIP) which is a mandatory course for all students of IFIM. 80% of the batch has already got the projects assigned and this time the mood is good as the stipend amounts are far higher than what were being offered in the past. Students are receiving stipend offers exceeding 60K for their entire IIP. IFIM Business School has been offering IIP over the last six years and has been recognized and awarded for this innovative academic intervention in multiple forums.
