"CAT 2014 shall involve administering a different Form of the Test across each of the 4 different Test Sessions" CAT Centre 2014

CAT 2014 has announced that ‘CAT 2014 shall involve administering a different Form of the Test across each of the 4 different Test Sessions.’ The different form of test implying different type of questions in each session may not mean any substantial deviation in number of questions asked in each part of each section.  The prospective CAT 2014 test takers on Nov 22, 2014 should not be worried and should devise the testing room strategy dividing their time among the parts of the 2 sections with the aim to maximize their scores with more attempts.

The division of questions on the CAT 2014 second day is expected to remain the same as on the first day of the exam on Nov 16, 2014. There were no technical problems faced on the first day nor they are expected on the second day. Prof S K Agarwal, expert on Verbal Ability and mentor CAT preparation expects the same trend on the second day of CAT 2014 and suggests not to get distracted with the disturbing points during the exam.

Avoid Tricky or lengthy questions

Choose only the right type of the questions which belong to your strong area. Questions in CAT 2014 second day are expected to be moderate with fair difficulty level. But these questions could be lengthy as happened on the first day of CAT 2014. It will be better to skip any question that appears tricky or lengthy and might consume more of your time.

Read the direction First

Prof S K Agarwal suggests that candidates should go through the direction provided to solve the question. Unless you know what is asked in the examination, you may lose the race. If you are asked to pick out the incorrect sentences from a paragraph and you pick the correct ones, you are going to lose your marks despite knowing the answer.

Don’t jump on the answer option

Read the question carefully, solve it with accuracy and then choose the right answer option. In out frenzy to jump on the answer option without carefully reading the problem can make the things worse.  It is a trap, avoid it.

No need to scan the test again and again

One of the alluring features CAT 2014 has provided is the facility to view the entire test questions in one go without visiting individual question. On the first day of CAT 2014, number of test takers wasted their time in scanning the CAT 2014 test paper again and again during the exam. It served no purpose. You may scan it once to check which questions you would prefer and then begin attempting them.

Revisit 5 minutes before the completion

5 minutes before the completion time of the test, the CAT 2014 test taker should revisit the answered questions marked for review. Please also check whether you have saved the answers.

Submit option has the summary

After the completion of the exam when you are allowed to click on submit button, above it you will find the entire status of the answered, unanswered and marked for review questions in each of the 2 sections. You may check it before clicking the button.
