The S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has closed the applications process for resident and non-resident Indian citizens on Dec.1. The B school sources say that SPJIMR has begun processing applications for the two year PGDM programme (2015-17) and would soon announce the first list of candidates called for interviews

 

SPJIMR sees a 10% increase in number of applications during its fully online admission applications process for admission 2015.  . The application process is now open only for international candidates, including Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs).

 

SPJIMR, Mumbai the highly ranked B school was in focus for its increased rankings and the myriad activities that have kept the SPJIMR campus abuzz with multiple high profile campus visits and industry engagements.

 

Dr.Atish Chattopadhyay, Deputy Director, PGDM programme said: “The increased numbers reflect the strong confidence of the student community in SPJIMR's PGDM programme in terms of the admissions process, the pedagogy, industry integration and leadership development, leading to increased opportunities and superior placements for our graduates.”

 

SPJIMR is now ranked among the top five management institutes in India with rankings of five by ‘MBAUniverse’ and ‘Business Today’, four by ‘Eduniversal’ (in India) and three by ‘Businessworld’ magazine.

 

The applications pool stands out for its rich diversity based on multiple parameters, including work experience, background, sectors and specialisations.

 

32% Girl candidates

 

Prof. Bindu Kulkarni, head of the admissions team said as much as 32% of applications are from women, an early indicator that the upcoming 2015-17 batch will enjoy good gender diversity and mirror the diversity seen in PGDM batches in the recent past.

 

22% non engineers

 

She said as many as 22% of the applications are from non-engineers and the applications pool has candidates from such diverse fields as fashion, mass media, hospitality, medicine, planning and design, along with engineering, commerce, economics and business studies graduates.

 

Good mix of freshers and Work ex candidates

 

There is a good mix of freshers and candidates with work experience under five years.

 

Profile based short list to be out soon

 

Profile-based shortlist at SPJIMR will be declared in the third week of December. Interviews will be held in the four metros of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru in January and February 2015.
